just pulled BOV apart everything looks fine. put it back in and still no luck.

thats the problem, i cant seem to get the code because every time i try to stop and plug the green to green and black to black, the light goes off. since i have had the car i know the vehicle speed sensor is busted which is code 33 and is a regular when i run the test, and that is the only code that comes up after the jerking and shuddering. have just gone and checked all the vacuum line and air hoses, they all seem fine. im running out of ideas of what it could be? il go check BOV again. the only thing i can hear taking in air is the poddy. any of this help?

hey all. having a couple of problems with my 96 sti RA. changed the broken turbo to a vf30. everything went back on making sure everything was on properly. was running mint for like 2 days, now the car is playing up. when i start it up in the morning the CEL is on straight away. and then the car idles up and down for about 10 seconds, and then the revs get so low the car just switches off. it does this about 2-3 times and then when i try to start it up again there is no CEL and is idling properly. then as im driving the car jerks and shudders and the CEL comes on but before i have time to pull over and run the code the car jerks again and it goes off. Can anybody recognise these symptoms as anything? or had this problem before? any help is much appreciated. cheers

hey ppl. just thought i'd start up a topic where we post pictures of our stuffed turbo's. This is my old vf23 after we were trying to get the compressor wheel off with a rattle gun and a screwdriver hahaha. and before you say, the turbo was already broken before we tried. so post your pictures and lets see what we can get.

oh really? what did you do to reset your ecu? i've tried to reset it by disconnecting the positive and pumping the brakes then i left it for a good couple of hours. but that didnt seem to work. any other methods you know of?

hey ppl. was just going to get gas, pulled out of the mobil and after going down the hill, went to turn and my car switched itself off. so i pulled over and stopped checked all the fluid levels and they were all fine. when i started it up it spat out code 23,24 which are new and 33 which has been on for a while and i already know about. on the way home i put down my foot a little and the car is shuddering and also sounds a lot louder than normal ( i have semi tuned pipes). i know my turbo is on its way out and i need another one. but are these symptoms of the turbo blowing or could it be something silly like a major exhaust leak?? ??? Any help or ideas would be really appreciated. cheers.

hey ppl. i took my intake manifold off in the weekend to respray it. after putting it all back and double checking everything i started it up and took it for a test run. everything seemed fine when it was warming up then i gave it a bit of gas and the turb spooled up and i got this strange vibrating through the steering wheel when the turbo was fully spooled. anybody have any idea what this could be?? ???

cheers guys. i will take the front mount off next weekend and attempt to get all the bits out and match them up. just sent a message to vori. i sent it but when i went into my sent messages nothing was there :-\ any idea if it would have sent or not or shud i re-type it out again?

my turbo isnt completely broken i dont think. just 3 out of the 5 fins are bent because the idiot i got it off left the air intake pipe to corrode so bad, the turbo was basically just eating chunks of hard rubber. when the turbo spools it is making a loud whistling noise and im pretty sure its not running as well as it should be. probably does still need a full rebuild but would that be cheaper that just buying a second hand 1? ???

yea they are, but im just thinking if im guna go to the effort of getting it all off, i may aswell try and upgrade it at the same time. ive been told that a td05, a vf29, and a vf30 would be suitable as they are faster spooling and would be good for the low down power and the short ratio gearbox. but im just trying to get a few more opinions. ;D
