  1. Looking at some eBay braces says its for a 2005-2009 BL9\BP9. Im picking thats the same chassis \ shape as my 2004 Legacy GTB (BP5) ???. Anyone able to make a call if these would fit ? Also does a rear strut brace interfere with anything in the boot ?
  2. Quote on OEM Stuff $142+gst front $142+gst rear BNT cant get Ultimates for the front, apprently they reckon im in for $200 per pair anyway base don the ones they get for ford and holden. Making the EBC Green Stuff @ $275 delivered seem like a good buy, and OEM not bad either. Anyone know how much I should expect to pay per rotor for machining ? from memory I got pinged $100 per rotor on my old 1999 B4, seemed a bit steep.
  3. Bendix Ultimates are sounding the way to go, have also read a good review of Lucas TRW on UK forums.
  4. Car gets cleaned weekly so wont be an issue with dust.
  5. Looking at doing the factory brakes, getting worn. 2 choices so far - EBC Green Stuff $275 nzd - Subaru OEM ?????$ Any other reccomendations ? want a full set for under $300, just a family road car with occasional spirited weekend drive.
  6. Getting ECU reflashed soon and wondering if its a good idea to get the cat gutted before ? its done 63,000kms Anyone done this ?, worth doing ? easy to do ?, any bad points ? Ive always gutted the cats on my jap cars, but this is the first Subaru ive done. Advice appreciated.
  7. I heard oiled panel filters were not as good as paper elements, apprently the filter oil stuffs up the air intake temp sensor element ???
  8. Believe me im tempted, the goodies available for the Legacy are up there with the SW20 MR2, possibly even more. But I just want something to tide me over until I can buy my Lotus Esprite
  9. Car has done about 63,000 kms would my cat convertor be poked by now ? how cheap to gut the down pipe ?
  10. Gauranteed 30kw looks good but to be honest ive been down the power route with my MR2 (205 rwkw) and it led me down a horrible expensive path wanting more and more. As is stands an ECU flash on stock setup Dave has stated will net me about 20 kw which will make it 210kw at the engine so I figured if 190 stock is nice then 210 will be quite zippy for the street. Would really like to go all out but yeah being a family car im limited now as I had my chance with the MR2.
  11. Recently purchased a nice low KM GT-B sedan, 5AT (metallic wine\red) as a family car. Sold my highly modified MR2 and we are going down to just the one car, but im wanting it to be a bit different than stock, nice look, little extra power, and have a limited budget and bear in mind its a daily drive and baby carrier. So far ive done - all the required servicing (oil, af sensor, diffs, transmisson, etc) - painted front grille dark charcoal mica - audio sorted (factory Mackintosh premium system) Looking at the following to complete. - ECU Reflash (Dave @ NZ Performance Tuning) - Tinting front windows to match the back ones more - Powder coat the factory 18s in Charcoal Mica - Front strut brace for some extra stability ??? mabey Am I doing things sensibly ? should I be looking at wheel and tyre packages vs powder coating ?, does reflash = wow or meh difference ?. Does strut brace add noticable stifness ?. Any comments appreciated, and some pics of your done up GT-Bs would also help me decide what look to go for.
  12. Could also be knock sensor, im not sure about the BH5 , but the 2003+ RevD work fine without the O2. The car just goes into a preset fuel map and doenst make adjustments. Knock sensor failure though puts ecu into limp mode to protect motor. My MR2 was the same. Whats your error codes ?
  13. Try AdrenalineR based in Hastings, they built custom mufflers for my Toyota MR2, best mufflers ever, top quality, great technology and most important...sporty legal sound. Cost around $550 from memory for 2 x 6" cans with 3" inlets\outlets, made to my size specs.
  14. Hi there guys and girls, just checking to see what fluid you reccomend. I went into Supacheap on the weekend since they had 15% off Valvoline products and ended up getting some Valvoline DexIII which according to the Castrol application guide was for 2003-2006 Legacy GT-B. Now im finding conflicting info in regards to the 5AT transmission reccomending using some special snake oil Subaru stuff and that DEXIII was for the 4AT (pre 2005). Can I use this DexIII safely in my car ?
