What condition is your steering shaft universal/link near the brake booster? Steering shaft/column bearings?

Also you\'ve done one side tie rod end, for the sake of $25 I\'d do the other. Have you got new steering rack ends/inner tie rod ends?

steering shaft uni was pretty sweet , it feels like it comes from the floor but will look at column bearings on weekend, and yup going to do the other tie rod when i solve this , its still solid as so going leave it for the moment
  2. ok ,old thread but i still have the same problem and is getting worse, took it to subaru and the mech that looked at it was convinced it was the steering rack. changed bushes and rack(had to use my old pinion gear tho) last week and the noise sounds worse, second hand rack so maybe it was stuffed aswell but didnt seem to have any play when i had it out, if anybody is close to hawkes bay and keen to help diagnose ill be more then happy to bring it to you. cheers again for everybodys input

20 something psi (gets approximate once you go past the gauge), side exit exhaust and a vr4 intercooler = omg the lols

    100kph one wheeler peels AND 6l / 100km

    Livin the dream man

Only marginally less safe than a scooter mind you, and even more hopeless at picking up dem honeyz

hahahahaha would be good for a laugh , did it last long on 20+ psi lol

Guy I know in chch had one with a little bit of work done (suby turbo, safc etc) and the little beggar could move when it had traction

Power to weight is an easier equation to make look pretty when its all of 700kg to start with

... Dont get me started on my City Turbo of giant slaying awesomeness either haha

crackup as haha would get some funny looks

Morettes is the word youre looking for. Mate had a quick BD5 with these, the massive wing and koya wheels off the redline legacy. Looked animal and got so many looks with go to match.

Would love a set for the wagon but cost vs performance = never going to happen.

cheers will look them up , sorry if this a stupid question but why did you say cost vs performance= never going to happen ? too much drag and to expensive?

  7. nah no strut brace, d bushes look ok but am going to get aftermarket ones next couple of weeks and see if that makes any difference.

good idea , as ive spent many hours looking over and over things trying different ways of getting some sort of noise while underneath but getting no noise unless im driving , i could be overlooking something small that is in my face ;) and yes even more frustrating when my friend who is a mech cant find it.

cheers again for everyones input , didnt get time to look at it weekend just gone but plenty of time this weekend hopefully i come across something

  8. can feel it through the floor on passengers side not as much on drivers side though, and cant feel through pedals , can feel it a little on steering wheel but not as strong as on the floor , top nuts for struts are tight bearings are fine ,

if it was the steering rack wouldn\'t it affect the handling abit more? i cant see it shifting at all from underneath and tie rods are good
