  1. Reasonable price I would think would be between 9.5-10.5 depending on extras and condition. I know that the turbos don\'t like being pushed much further than stock so look out for ones with boost controllers etc.

Apart from that just the normal stuff, clutch and gearbox, check diffs and service history etc. Ive just brought an 03 GTB (had to settle for a tiptronic) and my average fuel consumption according to the computer is 8.7km/l but on the motorway it will sit around 12-14km/l

  2. Most likley youve blown a seal somewhere and all the gas has gone. A/C pump wont pump unless the gas in the system is at a certain pressure, 98% of the time its lack of use has caused a seal or two to dry out and start leaking causing the gas to escape.

Id say take it to an expert and get them to check it for leaks etc. as dealing with A/C gas can be pretty dangerous.

How hard is it for a mechanic to check the cam belt? Mine has been done according to a Japanese sticker on the engine, but you never know with an import...

Very easy, Drive Belts off, then Cam covers off. Might even be able to get Left Cover off with Belts on? Not sure...

This, left hand cover held on by 4 10mm bolts then just turn engine on starter to guage condition/if its been replaced. 5 min job

  4. I think these pics are of the the older GC8 shape? the newer GG in the OPs case has a different set up with makes things a little harder from memory. The speakers are a single peace with the plastic spacer that mounts to the door in the front which requires some butchering (or buying new spacers) to fit anything worth while, I would recommend the later. However they do already have tweeter brackets that the OE tweeters are screwed and glued to, I just hot glued my new tweeters to this bracket for a stealth install.

I did manage to get 5.25"s in the back doors and if you can get your hands on some get Alpine SP-500s they were out performing my JBL 6" components in the front doors when running off a 60w amp. But they are out of production now so may be tricky to find.

  5. Check for vacuum leaks by spraying brake clean or similar on hoses and listening for idle pickup. If not clean or replace air flow meter can quite commonly crap out and cause rough idle.

For the lifters go to BNT or Part master and get your self a bottle of Proma MBL8 ($50 for a small bottle) add to oil when you do the next change and it will shut those lifters up.

  6. Id say start with the primary (find someone wrecking a Low ks equivalent leggy if you want to save a fair bit) change that and if the problem persists then worry about the secondary.

From what i\'ve seen secondary tend to be okay just because they are only really used half as much depending on your driving of course haha

  7. Did you see if there was any oil in the tmic?

If it only started when you put a new section of exhaust on its most likely a turbo. When mine went i only had smoke on deceleration or engine braking down a hill but that got worse quick. It only takes a little bit of oil to make a lot of smoke, as in my case the intercooler and turbo housings had very little oil in them.

I made a puller that takes my 10 tonne porta power, and bolts to the wheel studs, usually removes the axle, in car sometimes require heating and tapping while pressure is on,

This sounds like the best idea i have ever herd, can we have some pics?

  9. Fact of the mater is if its seized your most likely to break something trying to get it out. Wether you use the beat the snot out of it technique (personal fav, releases the anger) or the press. Moral of the story is, GREASE the CVs splines when you put them in.

take fuel feed hose off fuel filter and turn key,if fuel coming out of hose then it not the fuel pump.a wise friend showed me that one

+1 but be careful because if it isn\'t the fuel pump fuel will piss everywhere, so use a bottle.

Fuel lines should be under pressure so if you can take one off and little/no fuel squirts out then its a sign you\'ve either got no gas in the tank or a bung pump.
