  1. The one in your original post has hands free calling, factory installed not aftermarket. BUT the whole entertainment system is in Japanese - not that crucial just will have to find out what is what in the menus to start with.

Povo == poverty spec i.e a lower spec car :D

NZ new Legacies will always have 260km/h speedometer, not 180km/h.

  2. It' is a 5th generation BR9 Legacy - 2.5 litre non-turbo with CVT transmission.

Not a povo spec at all - S package (headlights, bumper, skirts, carbon-like trim, 18x7.5 alloys), semi-leather seats, cruise control/eye sights, McIntosh audio system which imho sound pretty awesome (hands free calling through speakers, music over Bluetooth or AUX inside armrest). Keep in mind though that (as far as I know) navigation will not work in NZ, even if you get correct maps and you cannot change system language to English.

@sobanoodle  ahhh, that makes much more sense. Had never come across autosol and just saw "polish" in the description (ignoring that it's for metal!) so was wondering how it would get rid of oxidisation!

I already have some heavy cutting compound, step I am missing is some polish afterwards.  You do it by hand?

Autosol is originally a metal polish, brilliant for polishing mufflers etc (or headlights if you wish, I even polished some high end Swiss watches with it at some stage believe it or not  9_9)

I like Meguire's, get it from Smits.

Cutting compound then autosol? Or is autosol slightly abbrasive?

I'd say the other way round - Autosol --> heavy cutting compound --> light cutting compound

I just use Meguiar's heavy cutting compound then some Meguiar's glaze. Do not leave any micro scratches/swirls as most of the other methods do.

  5. Found it, non-subarus allowed? :D

    Give us a clue??

Google maps --> satellite view.  GB mostly posts from a certain part of Auckland, once you identify that pattern it's not that hard ;)

Gave up trying to sell them as the shipping was getting to the point of being as much as the brakes were listed for themselves.

Sending them via Fastway on Trademe should be fairly reasonable. Might have to split into a couple of smaller packages.

Have sent muffler/rims/suspension that way and ended up being cheaper than Mainfreight ;)

Am I right in thinking the BRM version is an updated / facelifted BRG

Both BRM (2.5L NA) and BRG (2.0L DIT) are facelifts models.

    BR9 is a prefacelift/facelift 2.5L - can be NA (CVT) or turbo (5AT).

5th gen have significantly larger rear part of the cabin, especially leg and head room. Boot is actually a touch shorter than 4th gen (test fitted a 4th gen boot mat in a 5th gen and it was too long).

Exigas are pretty low on specs, not even HID headlights, basic interior etc.

@sobanoodle Not sure yet aye. Would be keen to just get the whole thing wrapped but unsure how the sticky dash situation would affect the new top layer.

They’re just too soft anyway so i’d be super gutted if I got a new or good condition one and messed it up pulling the tablet out or something.

Yeah you just never know, big issue over the ditch too.

I like the idea of wrapping it, perhaps in some alcantara or something similar, all up probably won't be too far $$$-wise.
