just done valve clarances
cyc 1 inlet cam one had next to no clearance?this would mean one of the valves is not fully closing??
explains 150psi compression?
explains the lumpy running?
buckers must have fell out when reassembling and got mixed around.
how much is too much clearance and too little?
the v7 onwards subbys have heaps of fandangle codes and ways of running the ecu..
done some research on us forums and most of them have v7 onwards and say that the o2 made heaps of difference
so will defitnately change it and see if it makes a difference
its not throwing cel's but im sure there will be heaps of codes if i got it scanned.
it defitnatly got some punishment when the engine was going in..
hi will a bung front o2 sensor on 7 wrx cause the car to be pulling timming and running in limp mode so it doesn't damage itself since it can't read proper AFRs?
the car idles real rough and pulling less vacuum, and it overall runs like garbage
i did bang the o2 into the chasis quite afew times as i had to pull and put the engine in afew times to sort some issues with aligning the clutch plate ..
i used the same coil and plug and plugged into each cyclinder. and it was 2 & 4 with the weak spark..
so swaping coils not going to make a difference
mite have to put new set of spark plugs in see if any difference
otherwise mite take to auto electricians
i have checked everything...from basic to almost pulling engine out again...
all standard cam sprockets
comp test all above 150psi vary in 10 psi
have check for spark but not timing of the spark
has air flow through engine...no rags in intake pipe
do i just see if there is power going to the injectors and see if it is within specs of workshop manual specs?
i done the spark test
cyc 2 & 4 has weak spark...hardly sparking compared to cyc 1 & 3 you could actually hear them tick as they spark..
what would you suggest??probe the ecu?its 3 wire plugs im assuming power earth and spark?
will check the coils on a spare plug and see if they are sparking..
it almost seems like the spark is being blown out by the fuel...
when u plug in the lead it makes a different noise then goes back to lumpy idle straight away
checked the cams ...all in the right place
check brake vac
fuel reg
still seems like cyc 2 & 4 not running like spark plugs coils or injectors
when u unplug and plug back the coil lead dun seem to make much difference
i had the breathers off when heads were off, can see bugger all thru the hole ,will re try anyways
with jack engine up n take the covers 2 check if cant see from breathers

just seen on these cams that they have markings on them.
do the v7 ones have the same markings?
they are only marked on the cam gears themselves which i have checked also...
only the driverside (rh) have the same cam gears the only side the inlet is the metal one and the bottom is plastic one
i meant are there actual markings on the cams themselves ..like when i take off the cam cover are there markings on the cams?
well it just doesnt sound right to me..
the v7's dont have many vacum ports. port on for bov, brake vacum, fuel pressure reg,and one for the fuel emissions
spark plugs were black..
when i stripped the engine i made sure i had the camgears back onto the cams so no mix up there.
i didnt think it would make the compression with the cams around the wrong way?different durations on the cam lobes would make it have alot less compression?
i will do a recheck on the leaks...i do know the boost gauge is not in the best condition(tee into the bov line)but the car defitnately not running right...its doesnt hav the same rumble compared to other subys i have owned..are the v7's different or something??
will check hoses again 4 perish or holes
