why does the gearbox need replacing when you can buy a replacement solenoid?

im not in need of a new gearbox just the solenoid valve replace for the awd system

This problem is usually caused when the transfer solenoid/valve assembly goes bad, it\'s located in the transmission extension housing & needs to be replaced. it can be done without removing the transmission....
anyone know how to do this i will pay cash?

ok but wouldnt that make some sort of noise atm the rear wheels are binding (not spinning freely)

hay yea i have done that but it just takes the fwd light off the cluster it still stays in fwd

hay there i have just got me another subaru its an sf5 forester and it seems to be stuck in fwd i have played with the switch next to hand brake but doesnt do anything and i would prefer to have it stuck in 4wd anyone please help

as title states im wanting to know what i can push my v5 to without it blowing up i took it for a dyno and it made 152kw atw but i had a plate welded in my exhaust that was made for silencing but all it was doin was holding power back i have fixed this goes alot better now and its also running rich so i want a figure i can aim for safely

ok haha i noticed u said (not straight away) but thats wat i was wanting to know thanks ill put the ecu on go for a dyno then turn it down if readings are bad

what im trying to get at with this topic is will my car go boom! with an sti ecu or will it be fine ;D

yea sweet as ill take a photo of my current readings will update when new ecu is in and get back on the dyno

ok yea i took mine for a dyno and now thats y i am upgrading my cars running to rich because of the sti injectors and i had a plate welded in my exhaust that f@#%ed with the back pressure and it only made 152 kw but now the exhaust is fixed so should make more just want to sort out the car running rich

hay there im planning to buy an sti ecu for my version 5 wrx its running sti components and 16psi boost as is so i was goin to buy 1 tomorrow is it a good idea? the internals are stock so i want to know if it can handle it?
