I have an issue and I'm hoping someone can help with this.
My 2007 Imprezza WRX had no signal on the alarm key, it was concluded that it was an old alarm system and that a new one should be fitted.
I collected the Subaru and went to drive away after the new alarm system was sorted. The car immediately threw up a fault code.
It was related to the cooling fan. Apparently the code would appear, then go straight into history. This happened every time the codes were cleared.
It was concluded that the ECU was at fault - So the ECU was sent away.
Some time later it was determined that the chip on the ECU was fried.
The company ordered a new ECU.
This ECU was coded for my Subaru and sent back.
I went to collect my Subaru today, paid the bill, and as I was leaving the fault code returned. After putting it through the scanner it was determined that it was the same fault code.
I'm not sure what to do next so any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah hi,
I have a 2007 Subaru WRX with a heavy clutch.
The travel isn't an issue at present.
I was advised to get the clutch replaced by my local mechanic.
What I'd like to know is, how do you know when the time has come for you to to replace your clutch?

Upgraded the ROM on an old telecom mobile - switched it over to Vodafone - set it up with a WiFi hot spot - hard wired it into the car - sweet, mobile WiFi.

Can anyone suggest a good Subaru mechanic in the Upper / Lower Hutt region?
My previous mechanic has sold up and it seems someone has bought in with the idea of starting a new automotive franchise chain. Not exactly what I\'m after. They\'re still servicing my vehicle but I would like to find someone who seriously knows what they are doing.

Can anyone recommend a good source for Subaru body kits?

My Legacy and I have become very good com padres over the years,
I don\'t want to sell it as I can\'t get enough for it,
So I\'m wondering if at some point I can fit it with a bigger engine (wrx sti) and some heavier brakes.
Can this be done, is it an expensive exercise, and will it be worth it?

I didn\'t tune out the lag,
A technician at Bristol Motors in Upper Hutt named Rick who specialises in Subaru\'s tuned it. And the lag is gone. Performes better all round.

Swapped out the front seats of my \'96 GT Legacy for a pair of V3 WRX seats I picked up of trademe. Had to transfer the seat belt catch of the old seats onto the new but the rails bolted straight on. All in all quite happy.

Thought I\'d give you an update,
My WRX V3 seats have arrived and they\'re pretty tidy.
Time to get some upholstery cleaner from Repco and give \'em a new finish.

I\'m new to ClubSub and I have to say it\'s a great forum.
I also noticed you\'re signage for Subworx.
It\'s a nice site.
I was intrigued by the Engines section as at some point I\'m going to want to put a new engine in my ancient Legacy (I don\'t want to sell it).
I was also wondering where you\'re placed in New Zealand?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what a good price to pay would be for some tidy wrx V3 front seats with rails included. I\'m looking at purchasing some but I\'m not sure what they\'re worth.

WRX ECU fault returned after new ECU fitted
in Impreza, Crosstrek and XV

Hi,
It was a mongoose alarm, basically the key wouldn't lock/unlock the doors.
They replaced it with an AVS alarm with a turbo timer.
The car starts fine, but the fault code came up as soon as I got in and started the car.
I took it back and they did some more troubleshooting -only to conclude that it was the ECU.
The ECU was replaced, but as soon as I got in the car and started it, the fault code came back.
I'm wondering if the diagnosis on the ECU was wrong.
Not sure on this one.
