depends on whos doing the compliance.i just re registered an evo and it needed a cert for biggers wheels and adjusties, battery in boot.if the front mount piping is tidy and you havnt made a mess of the chassis you should be fine.youll need to pay $450-500 for compliance then another $400-500 for cert if required.if i was you id go get compliance with standard wheels and see if the front mount passes so you dont need cert.its a bad idea to get your car certed for wheels because you have to stick to that size once certed.if you go with standard size wheels you can change them to bigger ones after compliance

my cars a sti type r and it just comes back as a wrx on carjam but is definitely a genuine sti.has guard badges, sti speedo etc.think it just depends on how the person filled out the paper work when it was first registered.same goes for evo\'s.some are registered as just lancers but are genuine evo\'s

i had a few cars resprayed for $1800-$2200 by my local panel beater and am pretty happy, had quotes ranging from $3000-$4000 from other panel beaters for the same job.sort of depends who you go to.places with a rep for nice paint work seem to charge abit more

haha Roo you gota watch out what you say on this forum some people have a carrot up their bum 24/7..if you haven\'t got the money just go to another WOF shop and then fix the exhaust leak when you have the money.better then getting fines for no WOF then youll never be able to afford to fix the leak

oh dam you lucky bugger wish mine was that easy

Gc8 front looks much better but not Gc8 interior, heres a sti type r with v8 sti interior they say its a pretty straight foward swap bar the speedo plug but this guy did a full loom swap.would love to do this my car lol well atleast i got the same head deck as him so half way there lol :P

sounds exactly like what my v3 sti is doing and turned out to be head gasket.get a tk test done and see if you have exhaust gases in your coolant system
-
aw thanks that sounds great!
-
can anyone advise me on a workshop that replaces headgaskets for a fair price in auckland.cheers
-
did a tk test a the dye changed colour after 5mins of running.just gona try some k seal before i get head gasket done, fingers crossed
/quote]
Don\'t half arse it, the gasket is fucked, put a new one in it.
haha i dont have money growing out of my ears like some people.im just going to use k seal till i figure out what im doing with the car.no point doing the head gasket if im going to forge the engine or drop a v7 sti block in

thinking of doing head gaskets for peace of mind but highly doubt heads are cracked as temp doesn\'t go over 90C then fans bring it down to 79C.car would have to be over heating to crack the heads from what i understand
can anyone recommend a shop for head gasket/cambelt job in Auckland that doesn\'t charge the world.got 3 quotes already and there\'s a $700 difference between the 3 and are all doing exactly same job and are respected shops

just ordered a alloy radiator and a full set of sti silicone hoses.so will see the results after that.cheers
-
yup both sides of the radiator are warm.the car seems to be running good for 30mins then anything after that it starts filling the over flow tank.so stumped
-
could a blocked radiator or heater core cause the coolant system to have such high pressure after a few mins running.dont think its the thermostat as bottom hose heats up too.cheers
-
i filled the coolant system with water then went for 30min drive.then put 2 liters anti freeze coolant in and went for another 30min drive..and now the water in the overflow tank is just water with slight brown after flushing system and no green..i dont think my coolant system in circulating right there should be green in there.checked bottom radiator hose and is hot so dont think its the stat.
-
haha got stickered for being to low or what? or was it cause half your front lip is missing lol
-
lol i did put them on the wrong way at one point in time but fixed that but thanks anyways,im pretty sure it aint the head gasket as no over heating or water in oil or vice versa.i just drained the coolant system and bleed it,if i dont top my header tank up to the top and fill it half way it wont push any into the overflow tank no matter how long i drive it.fingers crossed it was just a airlock in the system
-
I noticed in the last 2 weeks my coolant pressure builds up pretty quick from header tank.when i turn car on it takes about 2 mins before it starts pushing coolant out of the header tank with cap off and after a 30min driving i lose about 200ml of coolant from header tank and it fills the overflow tank..am getting cooling system pressure tested and a test for exhaust gases in coolant on monday but just want to know if anyones had this issue before
-car does not overheat and fans cycle
-brand new radiator cap
could these systems be from a blockage in the coolant system from a bad hose or a air bubble in the cooling system after changing coolant hoses..pretty sure its not the head gasket as these symptoms happened after replacing coolant hoses and no coolant in oil or vice versa
cheers
