Well the speedo he put in doesnt even work and the cops said the next wof would be the same kms as the previous wof i just need to sort out a speedo cluster..but if i were to sell the car i would definetly inform the buyer of what has happened, would say he did about 10,000km or so,only have a couple photos of what is used to look like,it was so mint before no even 1 scratch

  2. looking at selling it if price is right but may keep it and fix the body up.it needs a respray as it accumalated a couple dents and scratches..vtnz are going to sort out vin plates this week and wont need compliance.it only has 71000km on body and engine so has to be the lowest kms evo 6 in nz.needs 3 to 4 grand on it to look mint again.engine and box are mint

  3. Thanks guys! The Evo 6 was originally that bluey purple colour which is quite rare,iv only seen about 5 or so in Auckland myself.he hadnt completed the full respray so the back half of the car was the original colour and the front half which he sprayed was slightly darker, but when it was recovered he had managed to repsray the back half the darker colour too,he had also ripped of the spoiler off which left holes which was also a big give away.just a note it did have a avs 5 star alarm but the day before it got stolen the alarm was playing up so i had an Alarm guy come round to have a look at fixing it,instead of fixing it he ripped the whole alarm out as i really needed to use the vehicle and was going to replace it with a new one in the days to follow.police actually suspected the Alarm guy when i told them the story but had no leads...the guy that stole the car put in a new alarm system as well which i find so funny, even car thieves are scared of there own kind

  4. Hey guys thought id share a story

Had our evo 6 recovered today after almost 2 years of it been missing and it wasnt insured so was really happy with the result.Saw some guy driving it on the roads a few weeks back approached him and he shot off,but before he could i grabbed the plate he was using.carjammed the plates and came back as a 1800cc non turbo lancer so then contact the poilce.a few weeks after reporting it they came back to me with the good news.they had pulled the guy over and found he was disqualified so they impounded the car and at the same time noticed there was interest to the vehicle..they checked vin plates, engine plates, and windscreen numbers and found out it was 100% my vehicle.he had even cut the fire wall out and welded in his non turbo 1800 lancer plate but they could still see weld marks etc..

He had gone to some extent to try make it look legit.changed the speedo cluster.gave it a respray in a darker colour, removed spotlight covers, changed wheels and tinted the windows.it was stolen at 70,000km and his speedo read 220000km but was a cluster from a evo 4..the car doesnt look the best now but does have some nice bolt ons that he added haha hks adjusties, hks evcs, hks ssq and a few other goodies.

Anyways guys dont give up if your car was stolen over a year ago as it may not be cut up into pieces.an idiot like the one that took mine could of taken yours and it could still be on the road to this day, funnily enough i drove past a community probation center and he was in the carpark in my car and was already convicted of vehicle theft, looks like hes going away for along time this time..so glad to have the vehicle back!!

Big ups to the North shore Poilce Vehicle recovery team!!

  5. if they have a little black button on the back thats a give away they are fakes, and dont make the mistake i did and try use a defi controller on these,it wont work.same gauges are on ebay for $30 U.S..oil gauge requires a oil filter sandwich/adaptor then just screw the sensor in supplied.run the power for oil off the boost gauge

  6. these are the same gauges i have.sorry to say but these are fake.you dont need a control unit to run these.and you can set peak and adjust colour using the button behind each gauge..fairly easy to set up.you only need to power one gauge then daisy chain the others off it.they use daisy chain like genuine defi.oil sensor is simple 2 wire positve nd earth.the boost sensor has 3 wire..red earth lol black positive and white illumination.they buggered up wiring colours..they look the business though.any troubles pm me but u should be fine with the instructions supplied

  7. sorry it hadn\'t been bled yet as it was the first time i started the car after replacing the hose.so the coolant system was pretty empty

1)removed split 90 degree oil cooler hose and coolant..

    2)replaced with new hose..

3)started car and it ran normal for 5 seconds then check engine came on and so did the fans for a minute.then light disappeared and so did the fans after putting in some more coolant..

    4)bled it and runs fine

just found that strange, might be a safety precaution.

  8. anyone tried the aftermarket top mount intercoolers for gc8 off ebay.im talking about the chinese made ones.same as the ones autobahn88 supply on ebay.they say they are direct bolt on but the core is 30mm thicker than standard.so wouldnt that mean the red 90° elbow that connects to the compressor outlet will sit 30mm lower.meaning it wont really bolt up using my factory y pipe..would rather one of these than the front mount setup

  9. Was wondering if there would be some power loss if the splitter on my divorced down pipe is to short and isnt touching the turbo exhaust housing wall.i have a vf23 and im using a 24mm long splitter but have heard the vf turbos require a 27mm long splitter.would i lose some back pressure with the 3mm gap.any experiences?
