    Panasonic VCIS On Dash board

    hi everyone, this is my first post on here and also my first subaru, i have just purchased a 03 legacy wagon 3.0R and on the top of the dashboard is a small box saying \'Panasonic VCIS\'

    i did a bit of research on this and it seams to be some sort of beacon unit for traffic ???

    i guess this means it must wirelessly connect to a satnav device if im correct?

    So my question is can i use this with certain satnav devices or will it only work in japan and i guess is it even worth trying to use it in the first place?

    My car doesn\'t have the built in satnav either btw
