Finally attacked the silvia.
Pulled gearbox out. Cleaned gearbox bits. Swapped bits over. Sealed all the parts on. Put gearbox in. Fill gearbox. Won\'t select gears. Drain gearbox. Pull gearbox out. Got angry and walked out

Sick of looking at unevenly heighted king springs so chopped half a coil out of the front. Way too rough of a job for me so just ripped them out and chucked some coilovers in there. Should have just got
A set to begin with really. And wrx back seats went in

So what\'s the best way to secure a sub box in the boot so I don\'t have to worry about it next time I go around a corner. Just upgraded all the door speakers and will probably look to put the sub back. Had some salesman spend 30 minutes blabbing about 5.25 inch being all that will fit in the doors although I had just measured up everything, then another 20 minutes trying to sell me some top of the line components. Dude I came in already knowing what I wanted and instead of just getting them and having an easy sale you forced me to leave and go elsewhere.
Was it rapid radio?
Every bloody time I\'ve been there the same thing happens. Just let me buy what I want. Your knowledge is great but I don\'t want it.

Before you pull anything off do a quick compression test. Then go for the turbo. If it\'s white I would assume head gasket over oil seals which would usually be blue. Head gaskets aren\'t as bad as people make them out to be and not such a big deal to fix. Just means you can do a good service with a coolant flush, radiator flush, water pump, cambelt etc. peace of mind motoring!
But I really wouldn\'t be driving it let alone trying to load it up and what not till you find out what it is.

Is it worth buying specific polish for doing lights and other plastic stuff or is standard paint polish just as good?
Polish is polish, buy some 3000 grit wet sand paper and sand the lenses. Don\'t sand them dry keep it wet then give them a mean polish with some cutting compound. Not that junk shit you get in a tin from repco either

My box got a bit louder before it exploded. Could just be getting worn out

What offset are your 16" early WRX wheels? Found a couple sets that\'s 56 and another at 52 off a c-spec? Is that a odd set and the most are 56 or what?

So easy! If only I had my car haha

Is it just me or does every single FWD levin drive aroun like the owner thinks its a full blown racecar and on a qualifying lap. Big heel toes everywhere, always thinking their touge warriors if there\'s a corner coming up etc. drives me nuts when I come across them. Every. Single. One.

It\'s a few kg... 5 to 8 something like that. None in the doors... it\'s on the floor, the rear seats, parcel shelf and boot. It\'s a lot of work, and no you will not notice
any difference in handling or anything. It makes a big difference to the sound. You will hear the gearbox and rear diff whining constantly. You will hear every
stone hitting the underside of the car... you will need your stereo up really loud on the open road.
What\'s the cars use? Removed the stuff out of the 2nd racecar today and the Subaru sound mat seems very light and thin opposed to Nissan that I\'m used to. Wasn\'t a hell of a lot in there either. How far are you planning to go and for what cause is what you need to ask. In saying that, we fiddled with weight around Hampton at the last round and by carrying a 100kg passenger the times increased by 1.6 seconds a lap

Busy morning.
GF6 - Removed all the factory pre-facelift crap and fitted some v6 sti tail lights, v5 headlights, v5 grill, v5 bonnet. Removed the hideous factory steering wheel and chucked a nardi one on, got some wrx side skirts and rear bumper with end caps along with facelift mirrors and front bumper to paint next week. Serviced it with engine oil, filter, spark plugs and leads. And got some roof rails and mouldings to go on next week also.
V10 - Tore the engine and box out, removed front and rear windows, Complety gutted the inside and chipped off all the sound deadening with the help of some dry ice (made some sweet bombs too) it\'s at the stage now where we can drill off any brackets and bits that are extra weight and going off for cage next week also.
Silvia - Looked at it, looked at new gearbox sitting on floor, said fuck that and walked off.
All before 3. Niiiice

There\'s the motor that will bolt into the door with 3 or 4 bolts. There may be adjustment in the bolt holes to tilt or turn it there, or usually the other rail that bolts in with the reg with 2 bolts will be moveable. Have a play with it when the windows half down and see which way you move it does what.
-
It sounds like you need to adjust the reg (loosen the lateral plate and tilt or the reg also)
That\'s if it just drops when it hits the top. It\'s trying to go right up but adjusted too high and backing off the pressure and dropping to save smashing the window
-
Is it only if you use the auto up? Or if you flick it bit by bit does it go up till it hits the rubber then down?
-
Hop in with the car on. Hold all power windows down and keep down for about 5 seconds once they are down. Go up and hold up the same. Do this a few times and let me know if it works. Doors closed and try individually as well if it doesn\'t work. Some cars vary a lot in this procedure
