After a reputable panel beater in the hutt to go get a quote on fixing up a boot lid and spoiler.
-
I am interested.
How do you find it goes with the paint flaking? Do you use a heatgun?
-
anyone know how can I get in touch with rick wheeler?
-
Up at mountain that week. Can't make it sorry.
-
So I think i had the correct ones but needed to take the cone off. Well damn.
-
Looking for some lower control arm balljoints.
Picked some up from autolign but they were the wrong fit, the current balljoint have a cone shape that sits in the control arm. The ones on Strongs subaru look to be of the same type as the ones from autolign, even though they say fitment to BE/BH.
Any ideas?
Armstrong subaru quote 100 each joint which im not too keen on.
EDIT: I tried to take the cone/taper off the originals but it was attached to the boot. This is my first time doing ball joints, are they meant to come off and replaced on new joints?

I like the large V8 wing.

What's the problem exactly? The idle sits like 100rpm high?
You'll probably see less economy this way - it's basically a boost leak and you'll need to use more pedal to go the same pace
Yeah just a high idle. Its kind of rough as well but it doesn't effect the manifold vacuum or rpm.
Im gonna revert today and see what happens.
-
Just reverted back to normal rev a-c vac hose 10 setup for fuel economy reasons and my warm idle is sitting around 800-900rpm. This wasnt the case with hose 10 mod in use or before I first used the mod.
Have already done ecu reset but to no help.

You are right about the 4 wire.
Ended up paying $150 including shipping for; www.worldcarparts.co.uk/Store/tabid/667/ProductID/7139/Default.aspx?txtPartSearch=22690AA321.

Found it; http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?23390-Cheap-fix-for-dead-o2-sensors
Too tired to think properly last night (too many graveyard shifts). Thought you might have the number handy, haha. Thanks anyways.
-
Hey ross just wondering if you had the part number of an o2 sensor for be5c handy. I seem to have misplaced the number I had written down.
-
Purchased an ECU, cheers rossub.
Andddd scored a bargain on a unused clutch kit for $80.
-
What kind of price are you looking at for the o2 sensor?
-
Yeah thats one of things of my list. Now I don't have to find a suitable pump, thanks haha. I did the fuel filter not so long ago. Getting into the tank isn't so bad but replacing the casing for the filter is a *****.

How were you looking at doing the parallel fuel rail mod?
I researched a few different ways of doing it and found this one;
http://www.ludicrous-speed.com/wiki/index.php?title=Shanes_parallel_fuel_rail_mod
Thought it was pretty elegant compared to some of the other methods. Hopefully its just as easy with TT setup.

First trial drive with the new EBC, turned up full it would only just get to 10psi. So I came back home a fitted a 0.8mm restrictor pill in, between the turbo and boost solenoid.
A lot better, completely stable, finely adjustable boost. Currently running 1.1bar/16psi, with the HDI dial set just over half way.
I think the HDI controller has a pre-set gain level, or I need to try some different pill/hose arrangements out. Initial spool seems slower now, when I was expecting the opposite.
But either way, I'm grinning from ear to ear.
Ahhh to be rid of that VOD though..

What rev is your BE? BE/BH5A-B-C match the version 5-6 WRX/STI ECU plugs. Then the BE/BH5D-E match the version 7 ECU plugs.
The only other thing to worry about is the compression ratio match, engine-ECU.
BE/BH a/b/c 8.5:1 - Version 5/6 WRX 8.5:1
BE/BH d/e 9.0:1 - V7 Forester ECU?
Version 5/6 STI is 8.0:1 so will need the matching engine (or thicker HG), so if your in for a new block shortly that's the one to go for.
Edit: I've got all stock BH5B running gear, 5spd. For now... Yes I think any single turbo OEM DP will hit the TT gearbox cross member, just enough that you cant do it up.
Thanks for the info mate. Mine is a BE5C.
What type of AFM is needed for V5/6 STI ECU?
Have a couple more questions that i cant remember right this minute lol!
-
Got a couple of questions for you ross as I have a feeling my bottom end is creeping up on me.
With my be5 ver 5/6 sti ecu is going to be the easiest in terms of wiring. There was a ver 7 ecu local but I would need to wire in AVSC, correct?
What kind of running gear have you got atm?
also; I read somewhere that the gearbox crossmember will get in the way of the downpipe is that true?

Asked for time off so I should be in.
-
Super jealous of this build. Mad props
I think 98 is sitting around 2.35 here but last time I fueled up it was just before a price rise.
-
Sorry couldnt make it. Just finished work
-
**** completely forgot about this. Couldn't have made it anyways, too busy working.
Next time.
