  1. obviously no issues with collapsing then? that all im worried about! you use a EBC to get it to that psi? M&H ones sound great value!
  2. cheers guys. Collapsing is something that im concerned about as im running 20psi (falling to 16 at redline) on my vf30... im definitly not going to buy something cheap, think the AVO (if i can find one) or the tomei look the go at the moment. Hopefully with a good intake pipe and GFB EBC ill be able to hold that 20 all the way.... then my engine is maxxed (on safe tune...) I dont think ill install it myself as iv heard its a damn right *****, so i think ill just pay and get a expert to install it.
  3. Possibly, i do like the perrin stuff, seems to be good quality, ill look into the price differences. i like the avo because it replaces the afm to intake elbow, extra bang for $$$$.
  4. Hi people Im pretty sold on the idea of getting a silicone intake pipe for my v7 sti as iv heard the factory one is restrictive and is prone to cracking. im after something robust (none of this collapsing drama)... At the moment im leaning towards the AVO intake, its got wire reinforcing and runs from afm to turbo. good or not? any one had experience with one of these. If anyone can recommend any would be great... or just lend some good advice >>>>LINKS<<<<< Im going to install a GFB g-force II EBC at the same time. apparently with intake and EBC i should see some better consistency in my boost levels and hold a higher PSI high end?? and i will get gotasuby to check the tune after installation. Current mods for reference - 3"tbe - DW200 fuel pump - gotasuby tune
  5. Cheers guys. Makes a lot of sense, will put the OEM one when I have time and will post how it goes!
  6. There's nothing dumber than negative input on someone's else's thread. I'm not a mechanic, I don't know **** about engines and I admit that so I asked a simple question. Can't help me then don't reply, no need to be rude and obnoxious.
  7. BTW i wasnt aiming the arse hole thing at you. I acknowledge your opinion and what you are saying. Price wise to actually do it i have a close friend who is a welder/engineer so cost of doi9ng it is actually low. Anywho, price range and all of that wasnt my question. all i wonted to know is will a EBC cause the Wastegate to "flutter"? Is it to do with people running the wrong wastegate spring and only adjusting the boost with the EBC? ie... using a 10psi spring but tell the ebc to run 20....?
  8. I have a tune<<<< yes a tune, and im am pretty sure its by gotasuby? anywho Why should i spend and not spend money regarding what people think? ill spend my monmey on what i want. all i asked was a question, no reason for everyone to be arse holes.
  9. Hi Guys... Ok so im going to buy a GFB G-force II EBC for my V7 wrx sti... i will also fit a tial 38MM at the same time. My only concern is will a EBC make the waste gate "flutter" due to the rapid pulsing of the EBC to control boost? Is this right? Theres several videos on youtube were the open gate sounds like crap, they all tend to have grimmspeed 3-port btw. This video in particular but then theres some videos with amazing EWGs https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oppmPmoCgJg
  10. Also does anyone know if you can buy filters that are larger than the OEM one??
  11. ok, so i managed to get a response from DW and this is waht they said.... "in general yes, the filter sock can act as the pick-up point for the fuel and if not located in the right place in the tank this can occur. That is part of our application specific fitment kits, to address this to be sure the proper pieces are included with the pump for that specific application." The last bit he says application specific.... well yes i did by a specific setup for my car and it DOESNT work.
  12. Cheers ill give that a go in a few weeks. yea i have avoided it ever since it occurred.
  13. Hi guys Ok so i have been having a fuel surge issue since i put my DW200 fuel pump in. along with 3" exhaust and tune. It occurs when i corner sharply to the right with my foot hard up it, after changing gears the car will "jerk, stutter, pause" then take off like normal. It occurs only when im on 1/2 or below tank level. Apparently this is common in Subbies, especially with a higher powered Fuel pump.... has anyone else experienced this? Is there a cheap way to fix it? PLEASE dont reply just put more gas in... because when you have 50 bucks worth of gas in your tank i shouldn't need to put more in.... I have heard that aftermarket fuel pumps use a smaller fuel filter than the OEM one... and by simply using my OEM one it will help. ( im yet to try this as im wrapping up uni for the year, so will try in a few weeks) Obviously and surge tank would work - but that's $$$ i can spend on other stuff so im looking for a cheap solution! Possibly inserting some partions into the tank? stop the slosh - i believe the spec-C have these factory. Cheers
  14. safe.. got more in them if i push them. rather safety
  15. I got got my V7 re-flashed (road tuned) by Jason in chch? Amazing job by the way. Only Mods were Turbo back exhaust and DW200 fuel pump and im getting 210kw at the wheels. That with my injectors at there max safe level. Cheap as cips compared to tuners around here for the exact same job because most of them use the same exact techniques through the factory ECU!
  16. Awesome, might look into getting some of those intake pipes...! whats this snorkelectomy thing you speak of.... is it the thing behind the front right inner gaurd?
  17. Thats exactly how i wont mine to run!!! any other mods to get it there?
  18. i think he might have tuned for me? From kaiapoi chch right? Might have to get him to double check the tune.... but i think ill procceed with the GFB!!!
  19. Im currently open source tuned at 20psi.... but sometimes i only hit 15 underload and other times 20.... then obviously it drops off at redline. Just after some consistencesy so i hit my target PSI that im tuned for?
  20. Hi all What type of electronic boost controller would people recommend? are they worth the money? I was looking at getting a Greddy profec or Blitz type s off Nengun. The reason i wont one is to help with spool, and to get a more consistent boost levels, and most importantly safety! http://www.nengun.com/greddy/profec-oled or http://www.nengun.com/blitz/sbc-type-s-new Cheers
