does anyone here own a factory rsrb ? can anyone provide information on these factory modified models and possible upgrades

I own a BH5 GTB RSRB, I even have the front bumper lip thingy, its in teh garage tho, because CHCH roads.

It has the spoiler on the rear door, side skirts, and the grill thingy, not sure if the rear bumper is different?

As far as I know its all purely cosmetic stuff, mechanically it seems to be identical to any other GTB.

    Manufacturer tow ratings aren't enforceable:

    https://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/glovebox-guide-safe-loading-towing/guide-safe-loading-towing.html#howmuch

"Most vehicles have tow ratings given to them by the manufacturer specifying the gross trailer weight braked, unbraked, or both, that the vehicle can safely tow. Although the law does not require these tow ratings to be followed, the NZ Transport Agency recommends that they be taken into account."

The only enforceable law for lightweight towing vehicle I know of is this:

"the law requires that every light vehicle and trailer combination must be capable of stopping within a distance of seven metres from a speed of 30km/h."

    Further reading:

Edit: Insurance may open a different can or worms

    Interesting...

    7m is a long way at 30kph.

I know over here it's only rated to 1400 kg, but after using a terrano rated to a lot more and it being a bloody terrible tow vehicle, I tried the forester and it's just way better.

The legacy we used to take the car to Mansfield was way better too.

Hmmm, Im not sure I'd want to tow 1800kg with a 1450kg vehicle, also it may be illegal here, which would void any insurance etc if anything happens.
