With the launch hold the clutch when it JUST engages and hold car with handbrake, Drop it from that point.

I haven't taken my V7 on the strip yet but when I use to in previous AWD cars would normally try launch around 6000rpm. BUT as soon as I heard the other car start revving I would get all excited and limiter launch xD hahaha

Haha sounds about right hard to not get to excited lol. I have got my launch set to 6 thou seems to work algd but now I'm use to launching I mite try lowering it alittle.

yeah saw that, i actually pmd him on facebook to find out what setup he running lol, always curious about the subis pbms do - he made some decent kWs iirc, would be keen to see it in action

Yeah wasn't to bad at all I actually frabbed his twisted setup. Gonna try get him to bring it down to the drags when the nxt seas on starts.

  3. Nice. Nah had a mate jst get his bg5 wagon tuned at pbms and they set up cycle idle sounds pretty cool rocks the whole car too lol. If you look on pbms fb page it's on there, shows a video etc. Sounds similar to what I've got but Ive only got launch control (setup to disarm at 15kms) and a high low switch.

Haha yeah my cars genuine sti so mines strongish for the time being.. but my gbox has loosen up a lot lol

  4. Oh nice he'll look after you. Sounds good. U didn't think of the td06? Or u didn't want to higher kw numbers?

I had a vf28 tuned on mine back a couple years went hard too.

Haha I bet I'm itching to know when the nxt drags season starts.

  5. I've only done about 30 runs so far but I've got jst below 300kw and I've been launching it at about 6 thou. And building about 24psi. Only running shitty road tyres atm. Here's a short clip of a launch 60ft 1.8.

Aiming for 11s but since I've only started havent quite got there yet. Best is 12.1 so far.

  6. Hey guys, anyone on here had any drag experience on the strip? Care to share what you found worked best? Launching, changing gear, tyres etc. What sort of psi and rpm you have launched at on the strip?

    Thanks in advance.

Think he is talking about my heads. I sold them..hpe have a guy that works there is very well known for excellence in hand grinding work. It's not what I asked gavin for tbh. When I first dropped the heads in I asked them if they had the program to cnc the heads to ej25 cc and gavin said yeah yep we do sweet as after waiting about 1 month I returned to pay pickup and seen the heads had been deshouded this is not what a asked for and the deshrouding around the valve left high spots which will become hot spots not a good thing!after going backwards and forwards arguing with him getying hung up on going in there and embarrassing him in front of customers -3 months later I returned and picked them up.. he then tried to charge me another 500 on top of the 1200 or why I already paid but he told me he would cc and hand grind the heads at no charge lol but because his boy spent al day on them he thought it was justified lol I basically told him to get ***** and I'll just leave without paying anything more. so I payed what was orginally owed for the heads and was glad to see the bk of them.. if you are going to deal with hpe then make sure you drill it in to Gavins fat head exactly what your after or you could end up with something totally different. There is Peter at kennelly camshafts who does my work because I find I can trust him to do the right thing and not overcharge .. I would try him first. Cheers

Sweet thanks for the info man. I'll look into it.

Would live aircon tbh. But turbo spool is preferred.

Juzt tested it and 12mm should easily fit. Yup ill run same as the pic and lose a fan. If I run like that pic won't make much difference to spool anyway right?

If you put lumps of playdough on the high points of the manifold, then close and open the bonnet. You can measure how much the playdough gets squished and know exactly how much clearance you have to play with.

Ah I get ya. Have to raid mums pantry.

Nice to see a Gf getting love! Hmm you sort of need to ditch the ac.. it's not like where in australia where you need it. If your going to keep it though might be less head ache not flipping the manifold and run extra piping.. it's Gona lag with a big snail on it ne way. Never seen a flipped mani running ac but there is always first time for everything lol

Always give it love lol. Well ill have a fiddle around tonite and see What is going to work. I've seen this pic but not sure if will work on mine. image058_zpshvl7f7ki.jpg

Just looking at one in garage now yeah I probably wouldn't bother the icv sits high.. I wouldnt imagine heat soak to be to much of a problem like with that mani seein it has tumblers and gaskets between

Check out my garage if u want. Gf8 sti wagon. More pics there. So what do you reckon is the best option?

Usually it's the bend from throttle body that touches because of the angle..I have no experience with V7 but see no one else has any comments.. I know you can't really go anymore than 10 mm with a v4 manifold I would imagine it would be a similar situation with the V7 mani. Would be best if you trial and error it yourself with the bend coming off the throttle body

Yea that's Wat I have been experience hoe it is at the moment.i might try putting some packers under there and see if there's any room at all. Don't want to buy some spacers and find they aren't gonna work because they aren't cheap lol. Anther thing ive thought about is Would I be better off cutting and welding the centre of the mani?
