  1. Hey guys just looking over a mates car and it's throwing code 66 yep worst code, it's so vague and annoying.

Basically what are common issues other than your typical Bbod since iv swapped that out already and still has the same problem.

It's an auto rev b from memory, symptoms are 0 boost on either turbo and it has virtually no up and go even compared to an NA SOHC, it probably takes a good part of 20secs to get up to 100kmh.

Going to test the lines for any vacuum leaks next but if that's not it then I was wondering if there is there any other sensors that typically crap out or what my next move should be?

Any help would be much appreciated

    Cheers :)

  2. Hey guys!

a bit of background, iv been doing a single turbo conversion on my bh5 (its not really your standard single turbo setup though pic below of while it was being built up) followed the guide on the single turbo conversion off of here (bloody awesome by the way) i got it running for a little bit then it shat itself and iv just left it parked up for past couple months out of frustration ahaha. It's also got a g4 sitting in it

My car is a sack of S*** basically but i still love it. When I did have it running for a moment and took out for a quick test drive a while back now and on the way back it started to run like S*** then all power would completely cut out except dash lights, it was kind of hit or miss if it'd even turn over (I originally thought ecu might have been preventing it from turning over).
Now it will always turn over but never starts.

Other issue that's just recently popped up was that if you turn the ignition on then take the key back out the dash lights (cluster and boost controller) are all staying turned on with abs light and engine check light. I'm guessing I've somehow manged to F*** with the wiring somewhere, maybe grounding out somewhere or something?

Last part is that the ecu refuses to connect to my laptop, read that could possibly be a fault in the ecu?

I realize that I might not get fully accurate information but brainstorming and trying to figure out what my next steps should be which would be a huge help to get my baby back on the road :)

Some pics of the hose routing in here:

    http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?42682-Header-Tank-Internal-Corrosion-Version-7-STI

    Biggest - To turbo

Middle - To radiator, top drivers side

    Smallest - To overflow reservoir

Once again you are amazing man you really know your stuff.

I presume the previous owner of the motor has mixed things up a little since the middle one had the braided turbo return line on it originally.

Do you have any idea of what they will have run the biggest pipe to or maybe had an adapter to radiator?

Here is a pic of how it was set up before. https://www.flickr.com/photos/thatphotato/21916976024/in/album-72157660371577936/

  4. Hey guys just a nice easy question just need to know where the pipes lead from the top tank on engine presuming the bottom one goes to the metal pipe running under intake, the one just under cap is over flow tank the one next to that is turbo return? and I dont have a clue on the last big one on top of tank is for. Also on the alloy radiator has the one tiny pipe that i'm also unsure of where that runs to. Any help would be much appreciated

PS im doing single turbo conversion with a ej207 (v6) if that matters since i'm using the TT top tank.

  5. Hey guys just a couple quick questions.

1 will any gc8 lsd fit on my BH?

2 what diff would be the best and is going to handle the most power as I'm planning on making my legacy the fastest in NZ over a period of time

3 could anyone give some info on diff codes (r180,200 ect) just for my general knowledge :)

Any info would be much appreciated :)

    maybe a chassis code?

Im looking for a motor to drop into my 2000 bh5 gtb. All i know is that the v5/v6 should be the easiest to drop in with little hassle and expense. wondering if i look for a whole car or just components for it. not looking at buying anything at the moment but more looking for what it's likely to cost me

From his profile pic you'd say its a BH legacy so yea they are the same for GT/GTB. They do differ between manual/auto and do have some changes through each year of the BE/BH generation though.

Yes it's a BH5 Etune and both engines are the same year. Do i need to find out if it was a manual or auto?
