Be aware that factory Pistons run much closer tolerances than after market. Wiseco for instance recommend .002' for a street motor upto .005 for drags apps. Factory Pistons run 1/2 a thou.

Thanks! Just brought some wheels for a car I haven't even seen yet!

Looks like too much end float, your thrust faced could be worn on the crank and or bearings

Hes a marine engineer by trade so falls back on this. I 1st encounted him while managing an engine shop in Porirua. Certainly does talk the talk but cant back it up with the workmanship.
Avoid like the plague

Be very careful installing new seals.
A: different type for inlet & exhaust
B: make sure they slide on evenly,if they go on unevenly it can wreck the inside of them & deform the steel outer making them useless

I may have just purchased a set of 5 and only for the tyres so would have 2 spare. What are they worth to you?

Where the originals replaced because they also broke?
I personally think hardrace is over hyped. They look just like stock ones.
Whit line are nice but pricey,SaaS have their own brand of alloy links for $50

Hoping someone like dacca has the cc spec for 4G93T CD5A or CD5W Mitzi 91-94 heads? Wife bought some highish comp custom wiseco pistons and trying to figure out C/R. Trashed a head last trip to the scrappie when shifted house always the way. Think they were 9.5:1 with stock 1.6mm gasket hoping a 2mm would fix it as stock is 8.5:1 and evo is 8.8:1. Google isnt very forthcoming and cbf joining another forum.
Don't have a figure off the top of my head,I'll check when I get to work

Beanie is a tradeoff of turbo life vs performance and life of the parts around the turbo.
I'm running a beanie, because I'd rather melt the rebuildable turbo after 50,000km than superheat the underside of my TMIC and cook my brake booster. But that's just me.
EDIT: You could probably fit an entire VF turbo inside a T4 beanie. Get the T3 sized one, it'll still be loose, even on a P20 housing.
Exactly why I'm thinking of using 1.
Looking at fitting a V7 Sti top mount & trial fit looks interesting. I've got no heat shield at the moment, can't remember why I dint refit it after putting the VF34 on it
