I didn't ask for a device that "automagically" sets speed limits based on the roads.
Some cars have that. It's like cruise control, you set a limit yourself manually.
You live in a world full of idiots like myself, learn to develop some tolerance.

Loner,
At first I was not even going to reply, but because you are so toxic and make this community look like hostile to newcomers like me, I should let you know about it.
You know nothing about myself and you told me to "use my brain" in this thread and "keep mar car covered in a garage" in another thread to not have to wash it. This is ridiculous, it doesn’t help at all.
I didn't get my license yesterday mate, I've being driving for 13 years already, I arrived from overseas and was just new in town.
Yes I made a mistake to "speed" within the city, I assumed that. I wonder if you never ever went over the speed limit? If you didn’t get caught, good for you.
Communities like this should be a place you can talk/share whatever the **** you want, that's why I did it, so please use your brains to understand that.
lols. everyone jumping to his defence... it's funny that people complain about there being no fun or drama in the forum anymore, but when anyone tries to give anyone any ****, even if deserved, then the same people turn into the Police and make everyone play nice.
I don't care that this guy was speeding... but what he said was well deserving of some ****. Just got his licence but doesn't know the
speed limit in a city... wonders if there is some device to help control his speed... come on!

That is sad
I was living in Germany and they have huge self-service facilities with everything you need and you pay like 10 euros to use.
Back in Brazil, we have some dudes at the gas stations that wash your car like their own and you pay like, 10 dollars.
I guess I'll try that machine I saw in Petone, and buy a cordless vacuum cleaner
Unfortunately no, there's no self-service washing facilities in Wellington / surrounding areas. You'll need to find someone friendly who will lend you their driveway / street parking and use their water.I wish there was a Washworld here somewhere, but alas, no such luck.

Don't eat in the car. Don't take the car out of the garage. keep a cover on the car while in the garage. -
Hey,
Since I live in an apartment and I have no garage, are there any cheap places I could wash my car in Wellington/Lower Hutt?
I've seen one machine in a Gas Station in Petone once, but I'm not sure if that could damage the car somehow, anyone has been using it?
Any tips how to keep your Subaru clean and tidy without spending a fortune?
Cheers!

3 weeks driving and I got my first speed ticket at Evan's Bay Parade...
Unfortunately, I didn't notice I was above 50km/h, which the officer explained is the limit within the city
$80 bucks for speeding 60km/h, well lesson learned!
I wonder if there is a way to have a speed limiter in a Legacy, I remember a friend of mine had that in a Honda Fit, and every time he entered the city he would set it to 50km/h
Any ideas?

In a straight line I don't feel it shaking.
I didn't use the breaks in anger I guess, what would that mean? Like breaking really hard?
If the steering is "wobbling" when you are turning and braking it could be a build up of pad material on the disc..Does it do it when you brake in a straight line ?
Have you used the brakes in anger since you bought car ?

Any idea how much more or less I would spend to fix that?

Hey everyone,
While going through the Rimutaka Hill road, I noticed the steering wheel was a bit shaky while I was breaking and turning.
1. Is that considered normal for twisty roads?
2. What could it be causing that potentially?
3. Please anyone could recommend a trustworthy mechanic in Wellington?
Thank you!

Well, I'm new here so I'll just ask
I guess apps like Waze pick only fixed stuff, is there a lot of "mobile" radars around NZ roads?
I just bought a 2005 Subaru Legacy 3.0R and that thing will pass 100km/h on overtakes easily

Got my first speed ticket 60km/h
in Wellington / Kapiti

I am very sorry I started this thread as I really don't drive my Subaru irresponsible and I assumed full blame for my ticket.
I didn't really notice as well the precise speed so I checked the ticket again and it was 62km/h precisely. While I was driving I really didn't notice that I could be above the speed limit on that road since it was very open and clear of cars.

Once again, sorry about all this.
