  1. Hey,

I had this problem for YEARS.

Tried all the tips and tricks I found on the web and nothing helped. Cleaned/replaced Maf sensor, cleaned intercooler and throttle body, changed turbo inlet pipe and throttle body pipe, replaced crank sensor, used Lucas fuel additives, feed my FPR vacuum source to a different one, replace FPR etc etc. It's been so long and so much money has been spent i've lost track of the others ive tried.

What fixed it for me was when I had my tranny fluid flushed and replaced in January 2020 (due to a P1710 problem) and now it's permanently gone.

    Hope this helps you :)

    Cheers,

  2. Have you inspected your turbo inlet pipe/hose?

I had similar problems, i'd reach boost super quick on partial throttle.

Replacing the terribly worn and torn turbo inlet fixed this issue for me. Also greatly reducing the number of knocks.

My IAM hasn't dropped from 1.000 since

  3. An on-board scan tool i.e. OBDLINK LX (purchased at Amazon) with BTSSM app to monitor your car's health is something that I have adopted to make sure my car is happy and healthy. I have learned so much from this.

Other stuff I do beside the regular six monthly servicing is cleaning the throttle body, clean the MAF sensor, apply a can of Subaru upper engine cleaner and upper cylinder lubricant from Lucas oil.

Before I started doing the stuff above on a regular basis, my car ran like sht.

  4. Hey man,

Had the same problem with you.

No aux port easily accessible with mine, if any at all but I decided to go with a Grom Bluetooth adapter with mine.

Awesome purchase but a little on the pricey side.

    :)

  5. Okay, so my IAM numbers dropped again after a drive last night and has remained the same this morning.

I'm new to this logging stuff but I'm going to have a go at it today.

Below are the new values. Is it fair to say that the high-ish figures in yellow indicate I am running lean?

  6. Thanks mate,

Yeah I am. I have this very intermittent stumbling issue that I cannot pin point hence me going with BTSSM.

I'm getting crazy lean fluctuations on my afr too.

Would a weak fuel pump be the culprit? Or perhaps my warped turbo inlet?

  7. Thank you! That makes total sense actually.

I've had a subtech downpipe installed and I use 98 from mobil.

The intake piping before the turbo seems warped and I noticed some oil there too. I'll completely remove it this weekend and observe it better.

  8. Hey everyone

I need help reading/understanding my learned values.

I am using an OBDlink LX with BTSSM.

I have no clue what I am looking at and I have a hunch that my car is not feeling too good lol.

    Thanks in advance guys :)

Do you mind if I ask what they charged?

Looking at few second hand cars with banged up dashes so wondering what the cost to replace would be...

    Sorry for the late response.

$450 for the dash with the macintosh speaker in the middle IF in immaculate condition.

Mine had a minor scratch/crack, so I got it for $250.

So stoked to have this done in time before summer. I've travelled some serious k's so far this summer and sticky glaring dash wouldve been a real pain

Is yours a JDM import or a NZ Legacy?  Because Subaru NZ don't want to know about JDM, and refuse to acknowledge that it is a defect, even though US and Aus are going through the same issue and Subaru in their country have acknowledged it.

So since today is a hot day, my white dash as now transitioned into a sticky, melting plastic causing glare on the windscreen, the entire length of the dash is sticky.  I have only been driving out in the Sun for 15mins.

    Mine look exactly like yours!

Mine is JDM and I have hit up Subaru NZ about it yesterday and no response so far and will probably not hear from them.

Subaru Australia has acknowledged this and there is a Facebook page dedicated to this. The page is called ''Subaru Melting Dashboard Australia''. Looks like the Aussies are getting theirs replaced for free.

Leaning towards a complete dash replacement and I have contacted Strong for Subaru for quotes. Will let you guys know soon as I have more info.
