They say the factory tune runs slightly rich and a CAI causes the car to run leaner so it probably evens out, I've ran one on my 2016 STi for about 6,500km now and haven't had a single problem. Sounds awesome too

200kg heavier than My 98 Forester!
That however has nothing left in it eexcept 2 front seats and the dash. be lighter if i go tthe massive sun roof out of it too
There's more leg room in the back than my mum's M5 but the wheel base is the same as a Nissan 350Z

The WRX is no longer a small car. This looks like it's bigger than my Legacy station wagon!!
You're right, still weighs a mere 1500kg tho

Plus gotta actually be quicker than a typical half decent RB to not look like a fool in the stoplight grandprix
Luckily they're not decent ones in Hawkes Bay lol

I thought they actually cost more to get it brand new now? Did not want anything cheeky re plates ?
I was gonna get RB KLR but some careless rfb guy would probably key my car lol and $999 for private plates, $1,200 for euro plates.

I can't believe this plate wasn't taken, should be on the car in a few weeks

I got burned off by a stripped out DC2 Integra in my 2015 WRX, pretty embarrassing night.

I withdraw what I said about the Type R lmao
-
The Type R would out handle our cars. A good mate of mine has a EP3 Type R that has a 2.4L bottom end stuck to a 2.0L Type R top end and it's making the same power as our car's but it's still N/A. His car out handles mine in corners and it's around 13 years older than mine. As for the Focus RS, they have been a bit of a flop. They run the same 1/4 mile as a 2015 STi but have more power and more torque. They emphasised "Drift mode" when the DCCD system in the STi is capable of the same thing.

Inb4 the reason she chose the M5 was because it sounded cool

what version m5 does she have ?
it seems that while the latest m-cars now have decent gearboxes and brakes they have become more anodyne to drive, almost audi-like.
no twin clutch for subaru without big investment.
F10 with the Competition Package. She drives it like a nana unfortunately, now whenever you do put your foot down it coughs and splutters. Would leave my STi for dead

The twin clutch in my mum's M5 is incredible, would kill for an STi with one.

Sometimes I wish my 6 speed was auto, I loved the 5EAT in my 5th Gen Legacy GT, after I had it tuned it flew through gears like crazy. I test drove a V11 STi hatch previous to getting my 16' and it just picked up speed without you realising. My WRX's CVT was an absolutely incredible transmission, just wasn't solid enough to be driven hard, more of an economy box. I also noticed that STi had cool "BBS" Enkei's

In regards to Sobanoodle's t-bone, new cars are designed to crumple - my 2015 WRX after someone kindly reversed into it while parked. Door hinges required replacing. Pillar needed to be pulled straight. I barely felt it though. I was sitting in my car at the time

So are you off to Mangaroa Road this Sunday?
Was hoping too but I'm bad at sticking to plans, and I can't save money for the life of me... $50 is $50

So it was a bit of fun. But there was only 2 Subarus there, Al and Mark... There was also no need for the handbrake as it was way too fast and flowing for handbrake use. But whoever the guy is doing helis further up the page, if you want to do that legitimately, and are in Wellington there is an autocross on Sunday in Upper Hutt, $40 and you basically can race anything that is upto WOF standard and you have a helmet/overalls. Better than doing heli's and wearing out tyres for no purpose.
Plus then people know how fast you are.. (or aren't as often is the case at autocrosses).
I'm in Napier haha, not much of a proper auto scene here other than the Hawkes Bay Car Club.

We really need an Conducks legal and warranty advice thread.
I just go by what I'm told.
