  1. The Type R would out handle our cars. A good mate of mine has a EP3 Type R that has a 2.4L bottom end stuck to a 2.0L Type R top end and it's making the same power as our car's but it's still N/A. His car out handles mine in corners and it's around 13 years older than mine. As for the Focus RS, they have been a bit of a flop. They run the same 1/4 mile as a 2015 STi but have more power and more torque. They emphasised "Drift mode" when the DCCD system in the STi is capable of the same thing.

  2. what version m5 does she have ?

it seems that while the latest m-cars now have decent gearboxes and brakes they have become more anodyne to drive, almost audi-like.

no twin clutch for subaru without big investment.

F10 with the Competition Package. She drives it like a nana unfortunately, now whenever you do put your foot down it coughs and splutters. Would leave my STi for dead

  3. Sometimes I wish my 6 speed was auto, I loved the 5EAT in my 5th Gen Legacy GT, after I had it tuned it flew through gears like crazy. I test drove a V11 STi hatch previous to getting my 16' and it just picked up speed without you realising. My WRX's CVT was an absolutely incredible transmission, just wasn't solid enough to be driven hard, more of an economy box. I also noticed that STi had cool "BBS" Enkei's

  4. So it was a bit of fun. But there was only 2 Subarus there, Al and Mark... There was also no need for the handbrake as it was way too fast and flowing for handbrake use. But whoever the guy is doing helis further up the page, if you want to do that legitimately, and are in Wellington there is an autocross on Sunday in Upper Hutt, $40 and you basically can race anything that is upto WOF standard and you have a helmet/overalls. Better than doing heli's and wearing out tyres for no purpose.

Plus then people know how fast you are.. (or aren't as often is the case at autocrosses).

I'm in Napier haha, not much of a proper auto scene here other than the Hawkes Bay Car Club.
