  1. Had two days off work so I decided to tint the front windows of the legacy. I've never done tinting before but have done very similar jobs at work. I'm a sign maker so I've done frosting and all kinds of window graphics. It's not perfect by any means but it's a whole lot better than having the windows mismatched! 2b0311a26ccb11c102a33e487cb94a31.jpg

  2. Hopefully not your engine thrust bearing. Can you measure the movement at the crank pulley bolt with a dial gauge? Also could be your gearbox input shaft bearing if it’s noisey with the clutch pressed fully down (maybe).Worn clutch release bearing and weak clutch plate springs will rattle with the clutch fully released.
My clutch release bearing or clutch plate springs rattled when it was really cold with the clutch released. As soon as car warmed up noise went away.Motivated me to replace my worn clutch.

Thanks Dre. How do I measure that? I hope it's clutch related, and not box related

  3. Hi subaru family. I have a weird rattle coming from my 05 GT, 5 speed manual.

It only happens when the car is on, at idle, not moving (or very low speed) and my foot is all the way to the floor on the clutch. Its a deep sounding rattle (so not tinny like a heat shield) and maybe lasts for a second or two then stops.

Any ideas? Gearbox mount? or clutch master? Clutching at straws? Thanks

  4. New pitch stop mount is in. Has made a hell of alot of difference, with zero harshness thanks to it having hardened rubber bushes rather than the usual poly.
No more repeated rocking when coming on/off throttle at low revs is a massive bonus. Turns out the original was in pretty bad shape, the small side bush was flopping around all over the place.

That looks great! What brand and where did you source it from?

  5.
People have done it. The segments just have those melted plastic sorta rivets so just need to have a plan for re-securing it later
Hot glue to re fix them in place potentially? I'll try it at some point, maybe from a wrecker instead. Anyway, reinstalled the trim peices and it looks slick! Super stoked.

    Good job on those.
Wish it wasn’t a matter of semi destroying the door cards to get them seperated to wrap the silver piece in them. Not doing the whole lot would bug me.
Oh really?! That was my next project haha bugger. May have to wrap them on the door itself then. I'll post here if I'm successful....

  7. Installed cruise control! Love OEM option stuff. Bought the stalk and 4 pin brake switch from Sub Wrecks, definitely recommend these guys btw.

I used a dremel to cut the hole in the rear steering wheel cover and installed. All plugs and wiring was already there. Literally plug and play for that part.

    Also, boost gauge! 6e9014a6ec7e116b1d59c542293b9a40.jpgb1bad92700dd109e475aca683a39a81b.jpg010c38f30d40ffe21aa44f1298cdb05f.jpgeeeb78a8384d348495943429686c91d0.jpg

  8. Alright guys,

I've had a look in the search bar to see if this has already been asked, couldn't find anything... so here goes.

I am looking to import a 2007 - 2009 BP Legacy wagon and i'm struggling to decide between the two main engine options, the 3.0R and the 2.0T.

I will be getting a Spec B with the 6 speed manual regardless of what engine i decide on, so i was wanting some feedback from y'all on your experiences.

My main questions are the following:

    - which would be faster?
    - which is easier overall to live with? reliability etc.
    - does the EZ30 have much of an aftermarket? or is it primarily a exhaust swap and a tune to boost power and thats it?
    - fuel economy, what sort of figures do you see in your 2.0T/EZ30?  this wont really matter TBH but would be interesting to see.
    - insurance... that old chestnut.  im guessing the EZ30 will be cheaper to insure?

    Any information is totally welcomed.

    Thanks team!

I'd say there'd be more mods for the 2.0 because turbo? Plus the hood scoop looks bad ass. Totally not biased ;).

A friend of mine had the ez30 in a auto outback, he said if it was manual it would have been a heap better. But it sure as hell wasn't slow.

I get roughly 560 ks to a tank of 98 in my 05 GT (5 speed, turbo, dump pipe).

  9. Oh hell yeah thats a mean price!!!! Should get my fronts done, wagon so rest are at 20% but fronts are clear

Is the rear of a BP wagon about 20%? I plan on buying tint from our supplier at work and installing myself, should be pretty simple. Hell of alot cheaper too haha

How's the hogzaust sound? Don't think i've heard any audio clips of someone trying it with a twinscroll equal length header setup

I personally like it a lot. It sounds really angry (?) and not too droney at 100ks. Are you in Auckland? I'll be at the next meet. If not I'll try get a sound clip soon
