  1. Hi guys

I have been told that the whining noise when i reverse and the slight jolting when high rev before changing gears is because i need my thrust bearing replaced. Can anyone confirm this and give me an estimate on how much it will cost. The car is a 98 forester stb.

    Thanks Domsy

  2. Cheers..its a 99 rskb4.

    That could make sense.

Considering the alarm/immobiliser was out of whack and i had to get aa to help yesterday as it locked me out at the petrol station.

Also i have got the wrong size battery terminals for the fittings. Usually though if the connection is loose it just doesnt turn on...but i guess if it comes loose whilst driving is this a possibility?

  3. Hi anyone had an issue with dashlights going black then flashing...ive had this since an engine transplant. And assumed plug was loose. But today car randomly locked me out. Then on way home i went in to second in auto to go up drive. It started acting a bit towy but ok. Then i noticed dashlights had chamged to green only..so no speedo/rev.counter red lights. And the indicator lights are both on but not flashing. I pulled up to a halt and the engine started revving higher than normal..at this point i turned her off!

Any ideas....would be amazing! Thanks guys

  4. I have a similar issue. My dash goes black then starts flashing..as well as petrol gauge but never temp gauge. The two lights on the aftermarket gauges also go on and off. Most of this happened after a motor transplant..however i could bang the top of dash and it would go back to normal.

Tonight driving home changed it from tiptronic over to second gear to go up my driveway and it started acting a bit peppy. I notice the dash lights were on but the speedo/rev counter red stick lights were out and the indicator lights were both hard on.when i stopped it started revving high so i turned it off....Help what is wrong!!!
