  1. Tommie ed has titanium shaft which helps in faster spool but breaks quite easily if pushed so i wouldnt want one, only difference between 4, 5 and 6 turbo is 4 has 9.5t rear housing and 5 to 6 has 10.5t housing and thats it their all pretty much the same apart from that.
  2. Nope same turbos (td05 16g), evo 4 just has slightly smaller rear housing which really doesnt make any difference coz i tried the larger evo 5 and 6 rear housing (which is a straight fit) and didnt make any noticeable power difference.....maybe 5kw more lol
  3. You do know that evo 4, 5 and 6 use the same actuator right? Just coz its a 4 doesnt automatically mean it got s*** everything. Evo 4, 5 and 6 have the same gear box and diff and almost everything else (apart from brembos) but a lot of people dont know that.
  4. Yea crank walk is kinda over-rated, im still running a evo 4 block with my strocker bits and we were runing a 3700 pound clutch on it, i recently had al the bearings replaced just for maintenance an they were in mint condition including the thrust bearing supporting that heavy as clutch ;D and also once a block crank walks your never supose to reuse it or it wil happen over and over again....btw some reasearch has shown that even the mighty evo 9 engine can suffer from crank walk and so can a 2jz and a rb26, mates gtr had bad crank walk twice in a row.
  5. Evo 4 has the same thrust bearing setup as evo 1 to 3 so i realy dont understand why it would have thrust bearing issues....a close mate is making over 280wkw on stock evo 4 bottom end on his evo and it has been very strong and reliable making multiple passes at meremere and still going strong till this day ;D
  6. Id stick with the front mount, i also had issues with heat running a top mount.
  7. Yea thats true, the thing is my stock ones were pretty old and i didnt wana buy 2nd hand ones and have them fail again.
  8. Had a bit of miss fire at 310kw so we had to upgrade to go further.
  9. Was going to but heard its better to leave it off, keeps the coils cooler.
  10. Na has a 20mm gap ;D sinco did a great job of fitting and fabricating everything.
  11. Fitted new yellow jackets coil packs and leads with silicon radiator hose and carbon cusco strut brace ;D
  12. 880cc top feed precision injectors, ecu is factory evo 6 with factory air flow meter.....seems to be reading up to 27psi (not that im going to run that much on pump gas) so far no problem and seems to have more left in it which is insane for a factory airflow meter..
  13. Sleeper look complete with a tow bar ;D
  14. Tune was at mates workshop, just injectors, fuel pump, fuel reg, boost controller, 44mm tial vband etc.....
  15. Will try go have some fun tomorrow at meremere, dont expect much coz clutch isnt too happy lol and i think i might need a new box as this one never felt good
  16. I did make around 280kw with stockish turbo ;D ....around 320kw at the moment still tune in progress
  17. Went a bit over board and ended up fitting a garrett gt35r on my evo ;D ....hits full boost at 4100rpm with .82 ar rear housing
