Bimmer is so much easier in this respect - the option is already there, you just need to code it. JDM versions have decoded DRLs but Euro and US have them coded and all you need to do is just to change a few parameters to activate the DRLs, can even pick how bright you want them or whether you want to have the rear lights on too. Can also choose what lights you want to act as DRL: low beams, spots, squid rings or a combination. Pretty cool and no we're not talking the latest models, I've successfully coded a 2007 E93.

Are you referring to accessing the onboard computer?

Seriously, give the headlights a go, that's what I'm describing with the headlights, they only come on with the engine too (or used to on older models)

Did I mention this was my wife's car.

Not particularily hard, if not comfortable yourself get an auto sparky to just change the relays ‘signal’ wire to be straight from ignition rather than the button/stalk.

Thanks, that sounds like the answer.

What about changing the bulbs for LED's?

You can just buy universal Daylights from the likes of Hella and get an auto electrician to hook them up properly for you.

    Thanks

I was thinking more along the lines of fitting LED bulbs to the fog lights & having them come on with the engine.
