or another idea... what would it take to put the full v7 long block and manifold etc in my car and track down a v7 loom and ecu and get that wired up into my body? would it be worth it? i already have the v7 longblock sitting in the engine bay.

That would be my guess too. Some of the later factory side feed rails look like they've offset the "feed tube" bit of the rail so its not all flowing through one injector to get to the other. I still don't trust side feeds much but I don't have any other flow test data to show yay or nay.
so tops are a better call for higher flowing injectors

yeah youll struggle to find someone to reflash your ecu, you could chuck in a MINES but they are tuned for a higher octane fuel than NZ, may have to go to a aftermarket ecu such as a link.

wouldnt waste your money on a cap, just upgrade battery, used to run over 6000WRMS (real rms) in the spl car with no cap
