  1. Still just a vf22...

We don't have an actual figure as the dyno tuner refuses to do a power run on the current motor not knowing the internals, like the crank... Which we now do know is fully forged :) so a power run is in order in the not to distant future.

My pick though is around low 200's anything else is in achievable on a 22 I think.

  2. Eastern creek was the place to be last Thursday :) the long time coming coupe made its debut back on the track and by all accounts it is extremely well designed.

The day was in question up until 11pm the night before... Where we had found an oil leak coming from the sump the week before but due to time and work I couldn't look at it any sooner. So since the sump was coming off... It was decided to quickly buy in a tomei sump baffle and stiffening plate. Thanks to a lazy arse courier somewhere between QLD and Sydney it arrived late wednesday afternoon.

Off came the sump (till now we have not touched the sump) off came the oil plates and we were greeted by a very new and very shiny razor edged crank :) now that we know what is at the bottom of the engine I am much more at ease about running higher pressures, and tweaking the ecu a bit more.

The new baffle and plate are incredible and as you would expect from tomei they are precise beyond belief!!!

Thursday rolled around and saw the drivers brief start at 830, laptop in hand I clambered into the car and turned it over... Watching the beast warm up and come to life slowly shaking the limiters off at 50, 55, 60 degrees 61 degrees appeared and the laptop lit up with green lights and my right foot hit the gas to the floor... To say she roared is a massive understatement lol... The whole workshop shook and we suddenly had heads popping around corners of the pit garage.

The chart read some close to 3000rpm begin spool 3500 18psi (full spool) 7500rpm 17.8psi all I could do was laugh!! I hopped out yelled at my brother "she's ready" the rest of the day was pretty much spend getting used to the new power delivery... It comes on fast and steady but then holds it perfectly.

All in all very happy!!! Now to start on the 2.7 for when we blow this engine.

Final power figures are not set yet as we are still tuning and probably going to swap a few things around but it is very close to what we wanted out of this original engine ;)

    Some pics from the day...
