  1. I think you will get Pioneer tsa components in your doors as they have a smaller magnet, fusion do a shallow component as well and very cheap to, if running off a head unit that is fine but dont get them to powerful 60 rms max as you will be only feeding them 15rms from your head unit. When I pulled all my car audio from my Holden ( swapping to STI ) i put in some Fusion shallow components and 6x9s and it sounded very good, it was also on a new panasonic headunit ( crap ), also the car was sound deaden which helps. JVC also do a fairly decent compnent set, which I have used as well, got them off Trade me for $100 new, don't pay $250 at say Rapid Radio etc.

  2. I had type r alpines all sound deaden in my old v7 sti, components in the front with type r 6x9s in the rear running off big Infinity amp with kicker 12's in the boot and it sounded like arse compared to my old Holden ( same setup with heaps of dynamat etc ). I think Subaru's v7sti panels and car in general are to light are doesn't give the best sound stage. Getting back to good speakers I would go for pioneer tsd, infinity kappa range or alpine type r components. Remember you get what you pay for, also anything can fit it just takes a lot of time and effort as its pretty tight in v7 sti. Good luck

  3. My old v7 sti ecu was reflashed to 1.5 bar, I got a ebc and held boost pretty good, I reckon just get a remap done and you ecu and enjoy more gains in power and more reliability. I got 207 kw at the wheels on a very safe tune for $ 400 dollars off a road tune from Phil of flashtune, people like Pappu can tune it for you to bro, hope that helps.

  4. Hyper in penrose, ask for Rick, good deals and awewsome installs, Rapid are good but very expensive. I have also used Extreme Car Audio, very good guy, great installs and awesome pricing. His name is Jon and is a mobile service 021 292 0229.

  5. I had trouble with the walbro sock and many others in v7 sti, was getting no fuel pick up with quarter of a tank etc, I dont know if this wll be the same in a Forester but I would use the factory sock anyway, just a thought....

  6. They fit you just need spacers for the 6x9s made out of mdf. I got mine done in Auckland for 80 bucks including spacers and having them disconect the rear door speakers and run wiring to the boot for the 6x9s, made a good difference to.

  7. My mate has a 02 b4 with 2.5 rage down pipes and custom 3 inch exhaust, primary turbo replaced with a t04 turbo, walbro pump etc. Makes 172 kw at the wheels and drives heaps better than it was from factory. His check light comes on when he starts it, I think it needs a remap of his ecu to handle the extra boost from the exhaust (can hit 17 to 18 psi sometimes ). Any ideas on the check light ? I told him to get it scanned. I guess the moral of the story is he spent $2500 for that work and gave good gains but not blow your socks off.

  8. im not sure but i ditched my factory solinoid and pill setup and used new lines and a tee to stop my boost hitting to high before I got a remap on my ecu. Pappu on here reset my engine check light which comes on once you get rid of factory solinoid. My car was spiking very high on factory setup and we put in the tee to bring it down if you know what I mean.
