My lifters normally have a good bangin' time when they are cold. Once though I had what was apparently the piston knocking but man it was loud, Sounded like something had snapped in half in the block and was about to blow out the side.

I found le problem. One of the earths on the harness had come out hence why the reversing lights were barely working etc.

Hey team, Just went to move my car up the drive tonight. It started as per normal except when I put my foot on the brake it started making the beeping noise that normally only happens when it is in reverse. ( 2000 B4 AT ) Will beep if the park lights are on, same with the fog lights however with the fog lights the beep is quieter when the pedal is pressed. Also trips a relay near the trans shifter and causes the dash lights / stereo lights etc to all dim. I'm guessing its a short of some kind.. Any ideas ?

Hmm how much do you give your trans's I give mine a fairly good working sometimes and I'm scared its gonna break one day. Done 210k km far as I know its original trans. Est life of these anyone ?

Also check what grade fuel your running.

After reading the latest posts sounds exactly like the problem I've been having ever since I got mine. Will be interested to see what the outcome of this is.

Yeah id say check the cluster to make sure there's power to the display, My display also likes to have issues sometimes. It stopped going once but that turned out to be a fuse in the engine bay. Mine likes to say that its in 4th when in 2nd and sometimes in 3rd it says [ - ] In 1st while stopped it normally says it's in drive haha. Still changes gear when I tell it to, But from what I've heard it needs a new sensor but its by the down pipe of one of the turbos according to a transmission servicing place.

You mean the part that goes into the body and then back out into the airbox ? I'll wait for this weather to sort it self out then pull that side panel off and have a geeze.

Haha yeah id put my money on the downpipe probs. Thought if I put bigger hoses on = increased flow possibly.

I'm also thinking there might be something else wrong with it but who knows. With the amount of ks on it it's hard to tell. Normally get 2nd around late 5800-6000 but when it kicks in it goes basically straight to 7 then changes gear and looses all boost, and normally goes to max slip on the torque converter. It's lame to say the least. Tell us more about this ECV tuning

I've gotten use to it, Would just be nice to try have something more linear. May just be because mines auto and not very smart sometimes and I don't normally get the second turbo boost until just before redline. I've heard there is mechanical ways to adjust this but no idea how. Wouldn't mind somehow dropping it back to kick in around 4k ;D

How hard is it to get the filters off ? Would be keen to do mine.

Oh id also be keen to get mine off sometime and have a geeze at them check the seals etc make sure they are in A-OK condition as I don't think they have ever been looked at in their 210k km life. If anyone in the chch area is keen.

Am I getting annoying yet ? ;D Right looking for feedback on interesting ways to tune down the VOD. Manual adjustment on the turbos possible ? Or is my best bet to go out and get a ZS controller ? Chur yo.

Yeah try a hair dryer or paint stripper, I know some pro tinters ill ask them tomorrow.

Yeah mine goes black real quick, I'm guessing its cause old engine plus hot turbos ? No idea really.

From memory mine was around the 300 mark for parts and labour.
