    bloody canucks.

flares look goodish, rest of the car gayish.

are those skirts a diy attempt at ground effects ?

I like it looks tough, and IF it works who cares? Not everyone can afford a full carbon under tray and a wind tunnel for test and tune ::)

  2. According to another post my rear end is already 3.9 being an sti ra so i need box, shifter linkages, drive shaft and gbox mounts? Which is basiclly everything anyway :D

Also how would i get on with the dccd, can i still use my factory setup?

  3. I notice alot of people seem to recomend coilovers over just springs (and shocks if it was me) for a street car, ive had coilovers in street cars before and they are horible far to stiff for the road, unless you are changing the springs to suit the street i think coilovers are over kill, The only advantage i see in coilovers is you can custom tune your height ect, but that is really only needed if your going to the track.

Wouldnt a decent set of springs and shocks with dampner control be far more suited to a street car, as you can pick the correct spring rate and dont need to worry about cert.

If you are upgrading injectors to 440cc ones wy not go one step further like me and grab the blue p2 injectors that are 565cc and just get some rails to suit. Gerald at strongs subaru will help. and also if you getting nzefi to tune it I\'d recommend throwing in an orange afm. Just need to re pin your afm which takes ten mins. Orange afm will make a worlds difference to the green one that you probably have.

Sweet cheers for the advice, dont want to go spending money where i dont need to, been there and done that ::) I think going by what i have read the yellows may be a bit small, in terms of the power i want will be pritty close to maxing them out

FYI i ran yellows in my v2 RA with no tune just 13psi boost, ran a bit rough when cold but not bad enough to stall, when warm it was mint.

all we did was change to a v3 manifold and fuel rails.

Im guessing not an sti? If it was an sti wouldnt it of gone better on the factory 16psi with stock injectors?

  6. haha yeah trying to do things right and make it as reliable as possible, not chasing numbers just something i can take to the track have some fun and drive it to work on Monday (providing i dont crash ;D) If i had to pick a number for HP id be happy with 300-350hp atw. Do you think this is possible with minor mods and decent tune?

if the fuel pumps working changing it wont make any difference to how much power a car has.

a chip and tune even with standard injectors will make a big difference

I plan on changing the pump more so for reliability than performance, as it is 18 years old, and my understanding is when i get a tune and bigger injectors the pump would be made to work a lot harder than before

have you done your fuel pump and filter ?

thatll prolly wake it up a lot .

your 4x 370 injectors + a 100 cc 5th injector arent much down on the total of 4x440 ones anyway

you have a tdo5 aye ? coz a tdo4 wont feel that lively past 100

Yeah have done fuel filter, fuel pump is next on the list, i assume a walbro intank will be ok? Done realy know of any others that bolt in.

And yes as above i think we agreed that the 5th injector is pointless, but will ask a tuner to get there thoughts first.

  9. Nah its a v2 sti ra, ok than was thinking i may need a tune. So best to get them put in once i have enough $ to get a chip n tune from nzefi. Assuming that would suit? I would like to try and get a bit more top end out of it, as once you get over 100kph it just doesnt seem to keep pulling as hard as i would like (on the track that is)

BP on the corner of Sparks road and Hoon Hay road were still selling it last time i was there on Saturday

Are you able to ask if they will continue to sell 98?

I made a thread that has the confirmed sites that will keep selling 98.

Can do next time i fill up, should be in the weekend

  11. Also another question regaurding the sizing, i see on an auction for some v7 sti alloys it says they will need spacers to run on a gc8? I would have thought they would stick out far enough being they clear the brembo brakes? Or is it not the offset that makes them clear?

    Very confused?

Whats the best offset for a gc8 to fill the gaurds nice and clear the brembos (want to upgrade to them one day)

it will be phased out tho eventually

    How come? Not enough customers?

Too many. Supply can\'t keep up with projected demand

Really?? That seems odd, if they are selling a lot you would think they would want to keep that going?
