    looks good.

owned it for 2 years and this is the first time youve driven it, i dont know if i could do that...

Well it was bought as a rolling shell with cage, so taken this long on and off to build!

The floor has been cut out and lowered, seat right back, So it\'s actually pretty comfy for my big lanky ass.

I need to make a bigger accel pedal as heel and toe was hard. Stupid pedal position.

Looks real good Davebro. I was wondering the other week what happened to this.

Is it Road legal or to hard with the Regulations on modifications over there?

    It\'s still here! :)

Road Legal haha..... No. Race only.

Before I owned it the car was imported as a race/rally only.

So rules out things like Targa, but there is plenty more I can do. :)

Once it\'s retuned and I have had it out again I\'ll post another update :)

    Dave.

  3. HELLO EVERYBODY!

You have probably all forgotten about me by now......

I feel like I\'m in church confessing...

It has been 2 years since my last post.... Haha.

I\'m living in Sydney now, and the RX7 has progressed.

So I thought I\'d give you an update.

It\'s running now, and had the first outing at Wakefield Park yesterday.

Still only a run in tune, on 13PSI as new engine. But had around 225KW at the rears. Ric\'s dyno reads low so could be 240ish. Felt good.

Hopefully on the race tune should be knocking on 300KW at the rears.

Need to sort out things, but was so good to finally get it running!

Been a VERY long time in the build.

And my first time ever driving an RX7.

Running a GT35R turbo. Hopefully be safe on around 17-18PSI.

13B extend port race built engine.

Standard FD series 6 gearbox, but have just bought a full Albins Dog Box.

Running on 98 pump gas premixed, and with octane booster.

Haltech Platinum 1000 ECU and Racepak IQ3 logger dash.

    Rays 18x9.5 wheels with 265 35 18 Hankook semi\'s all round.

    HKS Hypermax coilovers.

Ripped out factory tank and fuel system and have fuel cell, surge talk, lift pump and 044 feed pump under floor.

1600cc secondry and 850cc primary injectors.

All work pretty much done by me in the garage over the last 2 years!

Still on factory sway bars and brakes for now.

Floor removed and lowered to fit me in!

    Racetech 4009 WT seat.

Always on going. Next step is new Ex Wastegate and new FPR, as both are a bit dodgy.

    Then race tune.

Then F and R sway bars.

    Then Front brakes.

But it\'s going and these things can be worked on over time.

Just thought I\'d post in case anyone was interested!

Here is an in-car from yesterday. I\'ll throw a few photos after as well.

  4. Mounted turbo today. Piped it all in. Also mounted radiator, but still need to make up bottom brackets, and probably more top ones, as they are quite flimsy.

Need more I/C piping for turbo side, as the kit I had don't match up as it was designed for a TT. Also still need to run engine loom, but can do that anytime, just need to take upper intake manifold off.

Its starting to look like an engine bay! :o)

Im reasonably certain on a car enthusiast website most know what I suggested isnt possible (disclaimer throw enough money at anything it could be made to work etc etc etc)

Maybe I'll just do it to prove you wrong. LOL

ROFL if your pockets are that deep burn the Rota and buy a Subi ya turncoat :P

LOL! My pockets are shallow. Cant even play with my testicles thru them. Hence taking me FOREVER to build it!

And was only because imports are HELL expensive here, and this came up at a good price.

So there. I'm still a Subie man. Although I drive an XR8.....

The city one is a nice shot, but a bit over edited... Looks like the cars are stickers stuck on afterwards!

    Nice photos tho.

Thats the interesting thing though! It not had any editing done to it at all! :P

Its just a super long exposure, and a really solid mount

Awesome. Must have been very dark!

You'l probably get more lag with a bigger intake manifold...

    /quote]

It will take nearly 1metre out of intercooler piping and get rid of some curves

so does a flipped factory manfold costing you nadda ... ???

It's Ok Jon, some people just don't get it!

I can just envisage you banging your head on the table....

lol jesus honestly.. fast and furious has a lot to answer to.

    But MIA! Ahhhhhhh (splat)

    nice photo man!!

how did u get it so well lit etc lol

Best way to do it is to use a camera with a fast lens, good high iso performance and the ability to have the shutter open for a really long time ;)

looks like my point and shoot cannot a430 wil never cut the mustard with that kinda work :(

A tri-pod is a must for night work, and a decent flash (which I dont have yet) one you can adjust. Or some extra lights! My next purchase is a speedlite flash and a 35mm 1.4 lens. Will be much better for night work!

  10. My old Back GTB wagon, few of you may remember it from the last Mega-meet I was at, has now done 215,000km.

My best mate bought it off me, and its still buzzing round Wellington. Still on the same engine. He has had the gaskets on the rocker covers done, along with clutch and a few other general maintenance items, but its still going great and mechanic says its in awesome condition!

So they dont ALL blow up!
