Hankook ventus s1 evo2 (k117) is a good mid range price tyre. Anything that isnt at the top tier of dunlops, bs, Pirellis, michelins range is pretty average but at more than average price

Another possibility is the valve clearance has been set too tight, when full hot its just slightly holding the valve open, will burn them all day long. Had heavy springs been used? In some cases the high seat pressure can stretch the stem, leading to reduced seat pressure and burn valves.

that looks awesome man, never actually thought of doing that as a solution

So even at idle its not all there? make sure your getting clean spark to 1-3. check the compression on 1-3, if ok check the c/belt timing is on mark.

actually dimin I have noticed the different sound of GRB to GDB, GRB's have more of a ragged edge sound. ive always had a thing for TS sti's with a nice exhaust
-
you need to determine if its just one cyl, or all four. likely your coil pack is breaking down or has a bad power supply or earth.

Yeah they don't seem to be such a problem on BH/BE. I mean if your in there for some reason pull them, otherwise don't worry. the BL/BP auto VF38 is just a grenade by itself, so give it an excuse and it will go off.

Many 80's turbo cars ran no recirc valve from factory, St165 GTFOUR, Mitsubishi cordia, starion, sigma GSR off the top of my head, for 3 years i ran no BOV on my legacy with TD05. The thing is, the compressor is spinning when the throttle closes, but the exhaust flow is also stopped at the same time, so all that's left is the inertia of the wheel assembly. Recirc helps maintain and thus recover compressor speed when the throttle reopens, that's why all OEM cars have it from the 90's on

They drive quite well, dodge the 2tlr models, they can have issues with timing chain wear, and the sprokets for the cams can slip on the taper leaving the engine out of time. They share abit in common with the ford mongayo, which isnt a good thing. As mentioned above, front arm lower ball joints, wheel bearings, and the lower steering column shaft are common to wear.

CDM has done some tuning for a couple guys at work, I think he is fairly cautious, which is a good thing. He is also reasonably priced.

Td05h exhaust wheel ..can.. support 270wkw in the correct application, I.e a mitsubishi, but personally personally on a subaru I would say 250, you know people have done 240 on 20psi on vf37's

Most of the oscillating sound goes back to what duty the controller is using to get the required boost level, gate valve size or flow amount vs required amount to be bypassed and its position in the manifold in reference to the exhaust pulses. I.e if flow is low but the gate is huge and the controller is at a low duty % because every time the gate opens boost drops under target its gunna make that noise. If its located in a very uneven area of flow it will make that noise

Yeah the spec is like halfway between a euro/aus wrx and sti engine
-
Im quite fond of the levorg, size wise its very similar to a old legacy, which is good
-
I only had a short drive as it only had 14km on it, the engine is very similar to the FXT which ive driven alot, more torque across the rev range. I agree the mirrors on the door isnt the nicest but you dont notice after a while, I think the rear end styling fixes most of the ugly bits of the old car.
im unsure and snz were unsure if the fb engine will be in the nz spec sti
-
Have you actually seen the car in thr flesh? It looks better than photos, also one more plus is the ej engine is finished, that thing was due replacement when the old car cameout
-
Just had our first come in on monday in silver, I say for styling its a HUGE improvement over the out going model, the sedan of the out going wrx has flucked proportions around the rear quarter window and c pillar, also the boot/rear end is complete fails. New car is now basicly the same size as a be5, and I think the size fits pretty well. Only gripe is the wheels are ugly and too small. For me yay so far

Google mitsubishi lancer register. Uk based and lots of evos 1-10
-
Yeah its really only some die hards that keep it going and alive, maybe two new topics a month in the general section MLR is good prob better than evom imo
-
Hows the b4 treating you? Miss that car even today
-
Yeah the o2 will be reading max rich and it pulls out 25% fuel to try get back to stoich that then causes a lean miss, very common on bh5
-
Yes that isnt a sti but rather a wrx type R, go the sti if u can find a good example

What causes burnt valve/valve seats and high combustion chamber temperature.

Yeah hes always going to say that right? Has anyone measured the vavle length yet? What conditions was the engine run under? High egts effect engines run under constant load like boats or planes more than automotive engines. If u had valve temps that high the exhaust manifold would be white hot
