New radiator & thermostat yesterday. $552 later.

Radiator thought it'd be fun to throw all it's water throughout the engine bay.. Needa get it checked at some stage. Second time it's packed a sad and done that. Could be a blockage this time.. but if i need a new radioator I might just get an aftermarket one. It'll be cheaper than getting it fixed.

Spoke to Possum Bourne Motorsport, They said a v8 sti will fit & bolt straight up, would just need a new ecu & have it all re-wired.
-
Could always just get a Ver8 STi engine and drop that in, factory ECU and re-flash (or Link + tune, which ever).
Should fall within $5-7k depending which road you take with the ECU.
Can still sell off the old complete engine to somebody who's lunched theirs, to recoup some costs.
My relatively factory Ver8 STi engine made 236kw atw. And is very drivable with the twin scroll turbo (early power).
Yeah this was what i was orignally thinking,, Would this need the 6 speed gearbox of the STi or would my 5 speed WRX gearbox fit?
And yes theres a WRX gearbox in my legacy

If it was single T.. What turbo would you recommend? I was look T3/T4 ?
-
lol if you're just concerned about the lateness of your secondary kicking in, get it modded and tuned to run the way you want it via one of the professional workshops.
No point just commiting to something completely different without at least attempting to do a lil bit with what you have yourself
I vote, mod + tune or parallel instead of sequential LOLS..
o btw, i wouldnt be comparing oranges to apples when it comes to sr20dets and ej20s or else you'll be starting up the whole weight to power debate and engine strengths and weaknesses.
it's not just the lateness of the secondary turbo.. mostly want to be different with my legacy.
-
i do like my TT setup.. i just think the secondary kicks in a bit too late and seems a bit pointless. it's th main reason why i want to go to single.
mates got a standard GTi-R Pulsar with a non ball bearing T28.. Pushes you right into the seat.

I love how she rolls the car... Then is perfectly fine to take a photo next to it. LOL
-
I wanna be different... It's boring seeing everything the same. It's why i chose the legacy in the first place.
-
Probably about $5K - $7K
-
Just throwing this out there.. Probably bit extreme too..
A long long term goal for my legacy is to convert to single turbo (Which i wouldn't be doing due to space and i don't know what I'm doing LOL) or decide to do something different and do a STi Engine conversion?
Thoughts?

At Sunday.. checked my dipstick.. It was bone dry. D: whoops. But it seems I've gone through 3-4 litres in a month & a half. No obvious oil stains where I park at work & home.. Any ideas??

Wanna swap headlights ahaha
Well here is my new daily.....Blew up the starlet on Wednesday going to the cricket and needed a new car ASAP as I start working in Albany for the next 8 weeks on Monday, with the catch that I currently reside in Manukau.
Hence I went out and bought a stock 02 H6 RS30 with only 54K on the clock, got it for a sweet 8k all up. I went for non-turbo as I wanted a good daily, and have found Aucklands traffic....Well slooooowwwww, hence it doesn't matter if you have the fastest car around as ur still travelling and sweet F*%k all speed. Love how comfortable it is, and the H6 gives me enough oomph for passing/towing.
Will post up better pics later.

Got a quote for BC Gold Adjusties, Guard Rolling, Fitting & Cert. $2400.
I also wanted camber arms but apparently they aren't suited to fit awd's

Cleaned the engine bay and washed and polished the exterior.
