NZ new 2008 BP9
Like these?
Not factory so been switched at some point in its life...
Na not like that, think they are just factory with converted led bulbs, so should be sweet. cheers

Any BP towbar will work, same chassis from 03-09.
This is the case with the vehicles tail lights, unsure whether the same applies to trailer LED tails...
I had a factory fitted towbar on my old wagon, didn't appear to have any flash wiring associated. Might be best to push on and deal with the issue should it arise instead of resolving an issue which may or may not exist.
Thanks, what year was your one? Mine has regular looking bulbs at top but led looking stop bulbs, not sure if these are factory or the last owner changed them? May have no effect on the trailer loom anyway.

interface with the electrics for the trailer lights, if you have LED tailights I believe it causes issues.

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has fitted a towbar to a BP5 wagon facelift? Specifically the 2008, but guessing it applys to the 06+.
main question is does it need one of these Vti boxes for the wiring?
Any pitfalls or tips appreciated.
Cheers, in advance.

Yep and love it! Wish I had bought one of these first time around...here she is, stereo has had the centre console double din conversion which is nice, needs couple things like new rims and towbar (if anyone has one going?..) but pretty happy as is.

Ahh think you might have cracked it, it doesn't have the Spec B front, has dual single exhaust tips, but interior is just like that Urban Selection model, its much nicer interior than my old 04 3.0r had for sure.

Cheers, all looks good on it. It has part leather seats with Alcantara inserts? Ive never seen this on a GT before? also keyless entry, with starter button and large alloy column mounted shifters. Was all this an option or is it a Spec B?

Just in case anyone is still looking for some of these Whispbars? I'm having to get some wider ones for a new vehicle.
I'll put this here too:

For anyone in mid/North Island, Subaru Dealer in Palmy North reflashed mine when it was thumping from 3-2 in auto mode, sorted instantly and hasn't been a problem since only cost me about $80.

or with free shipping and a foot kit included

although the flush bars look cleaner, I'd reccommend the through-bar type as its easier to tie rope or bungee cords around the ends of the bars.
you wont regret spending the extra. and you can add accessories that fit into the channels like kayak holders, bike racks, eye bolts etc

they will be noisy as on the highway mate, I have Prorack Whispbars on mine and they look awesome and are totally silent at any speed. worth the bit extra I reckon when Supercheap has a sale.

Those plugs are fun to change huh? mainly the two at the rear...I'm sure my garage has never heard so much foul language. Mine is an auto, but has a slight hesitation too at WOT when in eco, seems fine in Sport auto.

biggest tip for anyone planning on trying it on anything, sit the can in hot water for about 10 mins before doing each coat, atomizes(sp?) much better than just shaking it and comes out way finer for a smoother finish.

Dont know if you sorted this but incase...
I relocated mine up top and replaced nav screen with single din headunit a while back, I have a feeling I used the same plug from bottom and just unclipped it there was plenty of meat on it to reach the top pocket? I cant recall needing to extend it.
have you looked down at bottom near the shifter for the plug?

I thought all the 3.0R spec B's were manuals?
I have Potenza Re002 on mine been awesome, not had a moments worry from them in any conditions.

I used to fix amps here and there but I got a huge backlog and pissed off a few people so I don't do it any more.
Get me some high-res photos of both sides of the board and I'll tell you roughly what's wrong with it/whether it's likely to be financially viable to repair.
There is a guy in Auckland who is pretty talented in this area that I could get the contact details for.
nice one, will do asap mate. cheers.

Hey guys, I have a nice Phoenix Gold 4ch amp that I bought off Trademe as part of a package deal, supposedly a very nice little amp (Tantrum 400.4), but has a badly blown/distorted two rear channels, any ideas on who may be a good place to send it to for repair, or just to be assessed for cost etc in the lower Nth Island pref Manawatu area? I'm based in Wanganui, and can't think of anyone local i would trust to look at it that might actually know what they are doing.
Any help appreciated. Cheers.

FWIW, I put an X-Force cat back system on the wifes 08 3.0 R B with 5EAT - was waaay to loud and droned. Put the stock mid pipe back in and left the X-Force mufflers on, is good now.
Car has been Kido tuned aswell and it does that VW DSG \'pop\' on gear changes now.
I see that tune is pretty popular on the Aus forums, what sort of difference did you notice?
-
Ok good to know. In that case that misinformation had been putting me off doing a similar thing, cheers for clearing it up.
was considering bridging my 4ch for the fronts and running a matching 2ch for the sub.
-
ahh, sweet as then. i guess the only downside then is double the wiring and extra load on the alternator etc, otherwise all good.
