Yup the background is that its a car for my sister thats living down in Queenstown, we couldnt find anything that suited her down there but found her a nice 04 impreza hatch up here. Now just want to get it down the cheapest and easiest way.
Would love to drive it down and fly back but starting back at work on the 11th and flights seem to be extra pricey at the moment something about the national sevens being held down there at the moment ???
1 would assume that 1200$ is pricing for your car collection an delivery alone . Where as if you were not running on time restriction and you organised the car to be collected on a return run from a transport company surely it would cost considerably less. Also try training it down as an option.
Yeah that was for just the delivery no collection or anything, thats why I thought it was a little over the top. Apparently Christchurch is way cheaper so looking into that option.
think toll do a good deal if you stick it on a train something like $350-$500

Jeff Ward. Don't remember the pricing, but used them a couple of times, and always good.
Will look into these options
Cheers Guys

Anyone know any really good car transport companies?
We need to get a car from Auckland to Queenstown.
I have tried most of the ones that pop up in Google and the best quote I have so far is $1,200ish. Is that good or not?
Can anyone recommend any other businesses to try?
Thanks Andrew

Ah that could be it, as the tint stickers look newish on windows.
But by metallic tints do you mean those sliver mirror ones? As mine are just the normal black ones and don't look overly dark

Sweet will have a look next time a pull the headunit out. Wouldnt imagine that it would make too much of a difference tho as the reception was poor with the old (standard) unit.
Does anyone know if you can get boosters for them?
-
Hi guys, my V8 Sti has had pretty poor radio reception since I bought it
I have switched the head unit out for a new one with a aux but the reception is still just a bad as before.
The aerial plug in the back the headunit looks fine and there is no reason why it shouldnt be working well.
Has anyone else with the in-window aerial had any issues with this?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Gary (GCP) is a really good tuner and so is kent (speed source) ive had tunning done by them both. Gary is more friendly and gives advise kent not so much but kent has heaps of dyno time i have found that his dyno reads quite a bit higher then other dynos even at the same power, not too impressed about his service at the moment ether.
My advise go see Soichi at ST HiTech he is the man. Hes close, good prised, full of good ideas, doesn't talk bull s@#t and his dyno is bang on.
Why not impressed with Kent/Speedsources service atm?

Asking myself the same question at the moment too. Thinking I might try SpeedSource this time around but have been to Garry Capper in the past and he has been great.

Today I somehow managed to lock, my phone plus my only two sets of car keys and alarm remotes in my car
Worst part was that my keys were just sitting there in the ignition and for some reason the car locked itself haha. Not ideal.

Interested to know where exactly that shot was?
I would of picked point chev or something like that, but proberly completely off haha

Picked up new car from down country, decent 6 hour drive back to Auckland ;D
Went well except for some large boost spikes and a possible boost leak, will have a proper look tomorrow tho

oh that suxks i was just reading that the ecu reflash software was only introduced to the 2000wrx's and onwards
/quote]
Yeah, GD series onwards
not strictly true.. the earlier ones can be flashed. just not as easily and the tech was not brought to NZ to do it.. maybe one shop brought it in for the v5/6 from memory.
Yup! but I don't think too many tuners have the software.
Also can't you buy piggy back chips that are somewhat tunable? I would imagine they would be cheap, but no doubt dodgy if they havn't been fully tuned for your car.

This is his old auction: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/auction-318438273.htm
Where he has posted up the identification plates but as you can tell, he clearly has something to hide. Mind you 5.5k seems quite cheap for a straight wrx anyway?
