Hi folks from Canada's East Coast! I have a 99 B4 EJ208 TT that I've been tinkering on for past 9 years and I'm having an issue with my secondary turbo leaking oil out both ends into compressor snail and downpipe/ECV. 2nd turbo is a VF26 CHRA with VF27 exhaust and compressor housings, so it's journal bearing type. The banjo bolt is identical to the one in the primary VF26 turbo, so oil flow should be the same. No restrictors that I've seen, but I've heard they're usually in line for the VF27 BB turbos. The stock VF27 was leaking oil too before swapping it out for the VF26 CHRA. Both turbos have fresh rebuild kits with primary being completely dry, yet 2nd leaks like mad. I'm almost positive the ECV is collecting oil because I get a bit plume of blue gray smoke when I spool 2nd turbo and the up pipe is oil soaked (maybe coming out through the ECV flap linkage. My current thought is over pressure inside the turbo CHRA which is pushing oil out through the seals (small piston ring type). Cause is either too much oil flow or poor drainage. I have a dual oil catch can setup that I've confirmed has good flow out of the crankcase and head breathers. And I'm positive I haven't overfilled the oil pan so it shouldn't be an issue of oil not draining due to crankcase gases flowing up the drain line. For oil supply, there is no restrictor, which I think is proper for a journal bearing turbo. Mind you the stock VF27 didn't have a restrictor either. Kinda stumped on why its leaking. Anyone have any advice? Related Mod List: Killer B oil pickup and windage tray Ebay Silicon TT inlet DIY dual oil catch can setup (PCV valve clean and floating proper)

Hi everyone, I've recently purchased a 1999 legacy gtb rev A, ej208, and am thinking of building a water/methanol kit for it. From what I've read the w/m injection can help keep your cylinders and pistons clean and also cools everything down A LOT. With this temperature reduction, apparently there's a gain of horse power as well. They also are supposed to prevent pre- detonation/knocking, while running on poop gas. The spray nozzle would be put into the throttle body elbow. Does anyone here have any knowledge of w/a injection on a stock EJ208 and the effects it has? Are these kits still useful on our lovely boxer engines? Hopefully (if others think its a good idea) I can install it and then others can install one because of this thread!

I am looking to import a 2000 Legacy GT-B from Japan and am wondering if I will have to import a lot of parts from Japan when it needs fixing or not. Is it possible that the EJ208 engine itself was used in North America (minus the twin turbos of course) meaning that the only parts I'd need to import would be regarding the turbos? If anyone can shine a little light into this dilemma for me I would be greatly appreciative! Thanks!
