i have just discovered something amazing... the temp sensor has a connector 20 cm away from sump plug. it was hidden behind some metal... now that i have got the sensor line disconnected, i can finally get the ring spanner around the plug... ;D ;D ;D oil change time baby
rofl. rock n roll baby.
btw, im looking to take up loner\'s advice and remove charcoal canister to fit oil catch can. can someone who knows how to do this give me steep by steep instructions on how to do it? i heard some people say if u take it out, it can cause you not to be able to fill the car up?? or throw out a check engine light? also how strong would the smell of gas be if i took it out?
yea got 02 hole. thats my only concern. i heard if u get them in wrong position or not fitted properly, it can cause some problems like fuel economy or check engine?
just brought a xforce downpipe today. just wondering how straight forward is it when fitting? is there anything i need to know or is it just a simple unbolt and put in new down pipe? also can all the bolts be undone from the top or would i need to raise the car to get to some?
it\'s doesn\'t have to be that day. could do it day before or after if that suits.. unless u working. anyway, i will be keep trying to get the thing off, maybe some wd40 on the plug or something.... but if i still cant get it off then i will get u to help
thanks brosef. i will txt or msg u when i have my ferry ticket booked. hopefully i will get the arrive to welly at 4:30pm on sunday. anyway i will pm u when its sorted.
im just saying the thing feels so tight like as if it\'s welded. hey funky, i will be driving back up from chch to paraparaumu anyway, maybe i can stop by then and get you to help me with this?
so after like 30 mins of fukin around in supercheap. it turns out i need a size 27 spanner for the plug. but now i have another problem, the plug seelf like its welded the the sump. it wouldn\'t come out. the edges of the plug now is a bit munted from me trying to get it off. if i go any harder i rekon i will probably just strip the sides off... effing bitch of a thing to get off..... i have now given up trying to do it. maybe have to take it in to get done.. after i spend all that money on oil, filter and spanner
sorry i meant spanner not wrench.. it dont unplug, appereantly u have to take out the plug before u can disconnect the sensor from inside. i just did a search on google, someone said i need a size 24 spanner to get that off but i dont have one that size lol. fml
im currently trying to change the engine oil in my car, just remembered i have a oil temp gague. i cant fit a socket over the sump plug because theres a wire running to the plug itself for the sensor, can sum1 tell me how do i disconnect the wire or remove the sump plug with it attatched? i just tried using take the plug out with one of those adjustable wrench and things didn go well lol. but srs
thanks for the feedback guys. i went to armstrong today and got a quote from them for $90 to get it re gassed. a lot better priced then those other air con shops. might as well get it done by the subaru specialist since they are cheaper and will probably do a better job.
just wondering if anyone know would this fit on a v4 sti? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=528306333&permanent=0 . my intercooler looks alomst the same as this but i know this is slightly bigger. would i need to relocate anything?
another thing i forgot to mention. just to let u know how unloved the car\'s fan is. when i first turned the fan on in the car, it was blowing leaves and dust through the vents.. is there anyway i can maybe clean out the system? or do i just have to leave it blowing until it all comes out?
na bro. like i said, i only noticed this yesterday when i thought i would try the ac for once. i only had the car for like 2 months maybe. i rang unicool today, they said they can check it out for me. then if it needs regassing, it would be $130.
