  1. you do realise later triptonics have the same attributes as sequential ie,leaver push forward for up shift and backwards for down shift, and no clutching needed so foot flat to the floor, thinking out of the box, I remember a Holden in the GT class running a auto box and he did fairly well.

Never say it cant be done, just do and find out

  2. Ok up dating Bankies RSRA with a new motor, fitted a v7 STI intake just need help wiring up the ICV and TPS, going from v3 sti intake/wiring so both are 3 wire plugs so just need to repin, im no electrical wizard, original facelift BC5 engine loom is being used

bc loom colours for tps being used for v3 are red, white and black with white strip

icv still bc colours black, yellow red stripe and white

v7 sti colours for tps are red, black green stripe and yellow green stripe

icv are white, red and black white stripe

on v7 tb just to the right of ivc is an other 3 wire sensor what is it, do I need it

  3. hi TerryM, the vf38 is prone for failure and unfortunately I do not have a spare 1, due to this the vf38 is not cheap to replace in NZ looking at $800 + for a good 1, Im presently because of that reason making bp/bl twin scroll up pipes to suit single scroll turbos so that the vf38 can be replaced with any vf-tdo single scroll turbo. Sorry to be of no help best I could do would be pull broken parts out of turbo and re-install

  4. OK I want to fit a solid rear diff axles etc to my track car as ive uprated the motor now and the r160 wont handle it, want to stay 5 speed, have a late V8 STI wagon 5 speed which is 4.44 cant seem to find a 4.44 r1800 arse end and the closest r200 ratio is 4.36 will that difference Make any noticeable difference

ok made an adapter loom, got and issue on the BC5 4 plug loom you have B126/3 pressure sensor (power) & B126/4 pressure sensor(signal) and on the WRX ECU pin out it has only 1 out put B136/17 pressure sensor.

WHICH wire from the bc5 do I connect to the WRX pin???

    Cheers Brian

Should be B126/4 pressure sensor signal.

But I think you will have to connect the other BC5 wire (B126/3 pressure sensor power), to a sensor power source. (5v source?).

TPS? its a 5v , but that means I have 2x 5v feeds going to the wrx tps pin, will that be a issue

  7. Have ordered a VF38 rebuild kit from Japan, now the kit says it does VF40 aswell, are the cores the same as I can get a new core for the fraction of the cost of a replacement turbo, the only thing is I only see VF40 core available, will it fit into the VF38 housings.

    Cheers Brian
