Hiya guys Who knows a good place to get my engine checked out - wanting to check cylidner compression etc.. the car has been dying occasionally recently while driving and naturally a bit worried, anything would help - I don\'t know heaps about that kinda thing. ??? Thanks!

Hey guys, Getting a touch up done on one of the panels in my 96 WRX, I need to find the paint code, I've looked on the internet but I don't know the 'name' of my colour - it's silver as far as I'm aware ??? Also, was thinking of tinting my tail lights - anyone know what the best method would be?? Obviously there's a trade off but I'd definitely want it to be legal, preferably cheap and easy too! Thanks

Yeah the tick is reasonably quiet, you can just hear it if you're outside the car and close to the bonnet. With oil change - would you suggest synthetic?? And how about weight etc? I'll get that rattle looked at this week

Hey guys, pretty new here as I'm a proud new owner of a WRX ;D However just noticed a couple of things which are naturally getting me pretty worried.. It's done pretty high k's as well so any help would be appreciated - I didn't notice these things when I tested it. 1 - at around 1700-2000 rpm and also about 1000 I sometimes hear a bit of a rattle - almost sounds like shaking a little nail in a tin can or like there's something loose? Not the best thing you want to hear coming from your engine - doesn't matter whether I'm accelerating or decellerating seems to do it at these rpm ranges - maybe others but haven't really noticed anything. 2 - when the engine's warm I've noticed a faint ticking when idling and I stand outside the car - I guess this could be anything/it's quite common? If anyone's in the Chch area and would like to come have a look or could recommend me anywhere I'd really appreciate it - I've been to Crowesport the other week to do my rocker covers and header tank but they really screwed me round and ripped me off so dont really wanna go there again.. Thanks!

I'll try have a look, but I really don't know enough to be able to check that kind of stuff, which is why I was wondering if anyone is able to have a look at it for me. As far as I'm aware the turbos are just factory. It doesn't sound like a good whine though, it's almost a screeching noise, which has got me worried.

Hey guys.. obviously I'm new here and obviously there's been a thousand threads about whiney turbos but I wanted to ask if there was anyone in Christchurch who may be willing to have a look at mine, I don't really know enough about the car to be able to explain certain things, although ask me because I'm not a total idiot haha.. Basically the car starts whining at revs, but only when I'm accellerating with a slight amount of force - it doesn't whine if I really nana it. I've been told that it could be that I'm running too much boost - it's got a chipped computer and running about 11psi, or could be something to do with excess air flow from the front mount? Obviously what I'm worried about is that if the turbos are dead.. ANY help at all would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
