I've search all over the net and can't find an answer - when do you have to change Subaru CVT fluid? Various places say 'closed system doesn't require maintenance'. Other places recommend changes at 20/30/40k if towing frequently or hard driving. I did find one interesting comment about there being a counter in the ECU/TCU that can recommend when fluid needs changed. I've ordered an OBDII scanner but assume this counter will be hidden under a Subaru specific code. I think I have the only Subaru R2 type S AWD iCVT in NZ so the dealers are not helpful........

I got a key cut for my Vortex today (copy). They only had long key blanks available, which are way longer than the original. I'm going to order in some short blanks. They are $10 for 2x short blanks with black plastic end (generic, not printed with Subaru logo or anything). Anyone interested?

Are you still after heads? I have a set in the garage off an '86 Vortex turbo (Gen I heads). If your interested I'll drag them out and take some photos.
