  1. Thanks for the information guys. Will go and check out the price of a TS sump then. Cheers!
  2. Hello all. I'm just looking for information that if a JDM STi v8 header would bolt on to a STi v7 without changing the oil pan? Thinking of doing a twin scroll conversion. Thanks in advance.
  3. sweet as, thanks for the advise guys. It just that the car is not very smooth when it's cold and the first thing I see when I got out my drive way is an uphill so I have this habit of warming up the car... I'll try change my habit then - good for the car and my wallet!
  4. I have BE5, with Rage downpipe and factory mid-pipe at the moment - but the mid pipe will be replaced later. The car was running on a aftermarket muffler came from Japan and was producing the deep subaru rumble at idle. Neighbour complained so I replaced the mulffer with a factory one but lost quite a bit of power. I'm looking at the HKS Hi Power at the moment and just wondering if anyone's using it and could share some experience? Noise level at idel is a big thing for me because I warm up the car in the garage every morning. Any suggestion is appreciated! THanks guys
  5. if it goes into VOD then I'd assume the exhaust valve is opening. Check the pressure differential sensor
  6. Btw for those who interested in the ZeroSports sequential controller... I have it fitted in my car and currently set to 4000rpm... on second gear still feel like the second turbo doesn't really kick in untill about 4700 ~ 4800 rpm on full throttle... look like the secondary turbo needs quite a bit of time to spool up? Or may be I did something... Does anyone else have one fitted as well?
  7. the diameter is easy to measure but the tricky part is the angel... I'd recommend to have these with you when you looking for replacement... I'm sending mine to a friend on this forum and hopfully he could find something.
  8. the hose comes out from the airbox has two sizes - 76mm and 90mm.. I assume the 76mm is for rev. A-C and 90mm is for rev.D, is this correct? ALways wanted a metal one coz they sounds great... ;D 90mm: http://www.fortyone.co.nz/parts/view/12608.html 76mm: http://www.fortyone.co.nz/parts/view/12609.html
  9. I got mine through alert (http://www.alertmotorsport.com) they matched up the hoses, forgot how much it was, done awhile ago. I got mine from there too.. two hoses = $225...
  10. 5 psi is basically the spring pressure on the wastegate. I have a EBC fitted on my car and if I turn off the BC I get 5 psi. I'd check the solinoid and pressure differential sensor? If the pressure differential sensor incorrectly detects the pressure from the secondary turbo and thinks the pressure matches the primary turbo boost, it will open up the valve on the hose between the secondary turbo and the intercooler, thus all the pressure produced from Primary will leak from there....? I'm just guessing....
  11. I replaced mine with Samco selicon hoses... altogether with Rage downpipe. Turbos certainly spool up much faster - but I can't tell if its due to the downpipe or the selicon hoses or both... I'd say it's the downpipe....
  12. I think rev.D should have the new style headlight but I could be wrong. Someone told me if the car is produced in year 2000 but sold in year 2001 in Japan then it will be a year 2001...
  13. sorry for the late reply mate.... I replaced these intake hoses and downpipe altogether so can't really tell the difference they would make on their own. But replacing these two little hoses and the downpipe made a difference. Turbo spools up much quicker, especially on second gear.
  14. This pause at 6 psi will go away if you fit an aftermarket boost controller. I have a MBC in my car at the moment and it does not make that pause.
  15. I got them from Alert Motorsports for $220.
  16. I have some pics in my computer already so here they are: This is the one for the secondary turbo: I don't have one for the parimary turbo alone but here is another one: I don't have the diameter but I'll put it up a bit later....
  17. Yes mate... thanks for that... it's already my second AFM no the car... :-[ Winger Subaru Greenlane told me it's the K&N oil based airfilter broke the first one... so I'm now using factory air intake box with a Apexi panel filter. /quote] Yep, its a combination of the oil and vibration that kills them off. I think somewhere on here there is a thread that links to a test that was done by Autospeed (I think) on the effectiveness of filters (incl. factory, aftermarket et al) It found factory paper filters to be best... The Sequential controller does wonders for the VOD... Factory paper filters? That will be nice consider they are less than $30! ;-) I have ordered a sequential controller and bought a AVC-R from trademe... hopefully they would make thing a bit different.
  18. I bought them from Alert Motor sport Mt Wellington Auckland. here is their website http://www.alertmotorsport.com/Product/Subaru+Samco/1637 Part number TB-808 and TB-809. Hope it helps mate! Thanks for that mate, but damn $220 is alot of money aye! Do you have the dimensions for each pipe? Might be cheaper to find the same sized hoses on trademe aye. I have the factory hose lying in the garage at the moment. I could measure the diameter of the factory hose for you if that helps? The thing is the hose comes with a bend and I think that's the part that made them special...
  19. I found them on google... those two little silicon hoses cost $220... not cheap indeed.
  20. I bought them from Alert Motor sport Mt Wellington Auckland. here is their website http://www.alertmotorsport.com/Product/Subaru+Samco/1637 Part number TB-808 and TB-809. Hope it helps mate!
  21. this will make the pressured air travel for a much longer distance... will it cause a bit more lag?
  22. where did you get it done? any how much did it cost?
  23. The T piece is connected to hose 10 from the factory bleed valve.... I don't know what it is there for either... On my car, when I put my foot down in second gear, the primary turbo goes up to 5 psi pretty quick, stays there for a little while (like half a sec or even less, but you can notice it made a stop there), then shoot up to 10 psi, untill about 5000 rpm then it goes up to 15 psi... I'm not sure if it is the same thing you mentioned. I was told by someone that the car is designed that way to give it a very smooth acceleration. I hated it so I just disconnected the factory bleed value and installed a gated MBC. Now it doesn't make that pause at 5 psi anymore....
  24. Yes mate... thanks for that... it's already my second AFM no the car... :-[ Winger Subaru Greenlane told me it's the K&N oil based airfilter broke the first one... so I'm now using factory air intake box with a Apexi panel filter.
