  1. iv finally put my build together and just built up the oil pressure.im replacing my old 1989 rs ecu with a possum link.im looking for a dyno tune asap.anyone know where i can get a dyno tune in auckland i know theres torque performance, gcp, and speedsource but they arnt local and torque performance is abit expensive from what i hear

  2. yeh its a 89 rs.can anyone tell me what the 3 vaccum ports coming off the intake manifold are and where should they go,and also whats the one coming off the top of the throttle body.i know the left port on the intake manifold is the for the bov,fpr but i dont know what the others are for

  3. hey guys i cant find my verniers to measure the water return bolts thread that goes into the head.does anyone know the measurement off the top of there head,is it 1.25 or bigger?? the engine is an old closed deck block

    cheers

  4. hey guys i just picked up a g1 for $450 it didnt come with any sensors. can anyone tell me are they better than a possumlink and do i need to run a afm.there is no vaccum port coming out of the ecu.will this require a link map sensor to run or is it built in.any info about the g1 would be great cheers guys

  5. yeh iv heard that from factory most cylinder heads are made so well that theres no point tryna port and polish unless your engine is fully built and your looking for those very last kw

  6. nope its not suppose to do that.its suppose to show u at idle all the way to redline if ur running rich or lean.you can wire it to your factory ecu o2 sensor but it wont be as accurate.im going to be wiring it into v1-v2 ecu in a 89 rs legacy.i bort the autometer gauge second hand.do wideband o2 sensors have to be wired into your ecu.or is it a seperate sensor that runs straight off the gauge?

  7. iv seen cosworth pistons in a closed deck block make 800hp.search dynoflash on you tube and then click the dynoflash username from one of the videos.he uses alot of cosworth and perrin stuff on his subis and he explains why he uses those brands.this dude is the ultimate subaru and evo tuner.he has a 9sec street legal version 8.he has alot of cool videos of him tuning subis in his workshop and then taking them out for a spin.

  8. hey thanks for that Koom, that dosent sound like to bad of an option.can you expand on which three 4 plug ecu's are identical to the sti v3/4 and where could i find a rewiring diagram.cheers ohh and i dont have a/c so would that benefit my way with this situation cause i heard the a/c runs almost one whole plug coming from the ecu

  9. hey guys i cant afford to come up with the funds to replace my aftermarket ecu that never got sent so iv got to get rid of my 660cc venom injectors.the engine hasnt been turned over for almost 2 years and its got almost everybolt on you can imagine,so im dying to drive it asap.im gonna be replacing them with 440cc yellow injectors.how can i run those in a 89 rs legacy.is there a factory 4 plug ecu that ran 440cc injectors from factory.i dont really want to have to change the loom.cheers.

the last time i drove my car all it had done to it was

    dsr front mount

    td05h turbo

    wastegate

    2.5" exhaust

    stock block

    chipped ecu running 9psi

since iv driven it iv done some things like

flipped intercooler and twisted turbo setup

Hybrid td05 with custom mse wheel and cover

    sti v3 internals

    sti throttle body

    custom 2.5" to 3" exhaust

    custom exhaust manifold

alloy radiator not a crap one

    split rail

    walbro pump

    4" intake

    electronic boost controller

    sti brakes

    braided fuel,brake oil,water lines

    and so on

iv spent about 10 grand on my car since i last drove it

  10. oh i wasnt expecting that.i thought you had a stock starlet and you were puting a vf22 on it.with cams and all that boost a vf22 wouldnt be that laggy.you should try shortening your i/c pipes and flip your i/c.there are alot of little tricks to help you out with lag like instead of having your boost hose come of the compressor cover have it come off the intercooler pipe closest to the throttle body steve murch gave me that tip.better boost control and response.also things like having having a smaller i/c alot of ppl have intercoolers that are far to big for there car but they dont know that i use to be a victim with my 600x300,use smaller piping and make sure your piping has a nice flow.mine is 2 1/4 of the turbo into 2 1/2.you probly have all this done.imo i rekon a manual boost control brings boost on better than electronic but cant hold it near as good.you could use your p18 housing with the vf22 compressor cover/wheel.would probly flow a little more than the vf28 just cause the vf22 compressor and cover is slightly bigger

  11. hey mate a vf22 ex housing seems a little big for a 1.3 starlet dont you think? unless its got aftmrkt cams etc and u plan to run alot of boost, you wanna hit boost before redline.why dont u do a td04 hybrid with a td05 compressor side.alot less lag and it should reach the 160kw mark.whats been done the engine?
