Had a look a an 86 in the flesh today at Cookies Toyota here in Dunners. It's a red, auto version and the car certainly looks better in the flesh. That said, it does have a really cheap feel to it, not premium by a long way. Apparently 4 have been sold in Dunedin already.
aww is that all?, apparently cooke bmw sold 4 of the new bmw m5's, got taken for a drive in one and was drooooolll

yep. its more or less the EJ20K setup from the v3/4, but with 2 small turbos
it will be late 1996 and the TT engine is 280ps EJ20R
this model is probably the easiest to convert (back) to single turbo

it kinda have a v1/2 style heads on it though...
could be a rev. b which blew an engine down the track and got a bg5a block but retained the intake, injectors etc
-
Yep. always knew that.. My cousin had two so got to know alot about them lol but what I want to know is what if one was to slap two VF22 turbos on it would it fit easily and go hard? that would be epic.

I have often wondered what do the vf numbers mean? is a vf26/27 combo bigger than say a vf22? I know the vf18/19 combo are the same size turbo just different outer shells so that is probably the closest you would get to having two of the same sized turbos on the tt system without having to modify the up pipes?
afaik the numbers are just pretty much chronological, ie 23 is newer than a 22, 13 and 8 while older than a 30 or 37 etc
-
yep fully justified lol
perhaps take it up with the guy who runs the operation, ken cummings
-
tl;dr version
he dropped his car off there months ago
workshop reversed it into something.
post made with damage
skip to now
gets car back. worse than when he dropped it off
-
wonder if my 4age would like it hmmmmm
-
would a pic of a v3/4 i/c pipe help at all?
-
yep, sometimes my 1600 feels thirsty as fark, as i have to push it to get any performance
-
similar process, just getting coils off the plugs are the pain
-
-
subi - put in radiator, leads, airbox, afm, acc belts - and cbf doing much else untill i get a few days to myself
sprinter - prepped and painted replacement guard
-
$30 a can and can says minimum 300g of paint, more expensive than the premade stuff at repco/supercheap but the sprinter is an odd toyota dark bluey grey. and less hassle than sourcing a compressor and sorting thinners out
