noticed a small amount of oil in garage, took to shop for another reason and got him to check the leak, said its leaking out all the seals but said maybe the breather is blocked?? but he was only having a quick look and couldnt find the breather, anyone know where and what it looks like so i could have a go at fixing it
he thinks its maybe incased and above the rear diff

been using valvaline engine armour oil 5w 30, noticed the subaru tick on 1st start ups, 15w 40 magnatec for the winter? oil only done 4000ks max so will dump it and see if thicker oil helps, engine done maybe 40000ks on rebuild

some 4s can look nice, especially on 5 rims

A lot of material through Google searches is simply wrong.
All official Subaru photos show the extended lip was standard on all regular STIv6, the revised spoilers were one of the few changes over the v5.
As loner says, they were vulnerable to damage and are easily removed. leaving a v5 look.
so true. i have fitted the lip to my 5 making it look like a 6 front ;D

For what, 1000rpm?
Haha my thoughts as well
I love me a big comfy legacy as much as anyone but you\'re dreaming if you can drive a (stock) sti then a b4 back to back and say the legacy is quicker in a straight line the majority of the time. The power to weight of both cars is generally the same - a legacy is about the same weight as the average wrx - but the midrange is just chalk and cheese, and then adding the long legged legacy gearbox into it there\'s a big deficit to make up
They *can* go good - mine sits side by side with evos that have high 12 sec slips - but all it takes is one mis timed shift or whatever and it\'s all over, it\'s like VTEC without the economy, and minus the response
On paper the legacy can go good - in the real world you\'re pushing sh1t uphill a bit
agree totally, as a daily driver with some power there fine, i wouldnt own 1 tho after having a TT few years ago, im a single turbo person

was just guna reply get a lip on that, makes such a difference i think, great score
-
drove mates 99 b4 before i sold it, very nice to drive, soft steering etc but had no pull compared to my 5, maybe just because everything is alot softer

Ongoing urgent maintenance to the new car. Stupid Japanese owner didn\'t do any servicing for 80,000km!
So far:
Spark plugs
Engine oil
Transmission oil
Wheel alignment + camber bolts (completely out, running positive camber on front right and negative camber on front left!)
Replace crazy Japanese GPS stereo with something useable
Almost there, just need to flush the brakes and fit better pads next week. Big thanks to spark38 and mattapo for all your help!
what car do u have now? thats abit overdue
-

-
mate sold his today, yet to be picked up tho, 3.5g is a sedan, stock except exhaust and 170ks thort it was a decent buy

leaky rear diff
in Gearbox and Drivetrain

ok are they a easy fix? and cost? never had to do them
checking the net seems like a common problem, some remove the breather and replace it with a threaded tube and hose
