Tried a different battery, starter is fine, engine is not ceased, checked the wiring. Any reason for it to not be starting?

as long as its got good tyres on it, i dont think there will be much differance at all in the controlling, performance, or safety of the car compared to a AWD . like i said, they dont have a lot of power so your son would have to be pulling handbrakes to get it to go side ways with good tyres on it haha.

i had 1 of these as my first car when i was 16. very economical, comfy to drive and not too fast. only downside is, car thieves like to target these. as with most subarus. i had mine for 6 weeks before it got pinched from outside my house and turned up 3 weeks later in some guys paddock bashed to crap and was written off. so if you do get it i would defiantly recommend getting insurance, mine set me back $40 a month for 3rd party fire and theft with AA, and that was when i was on my learners, had quite a bit of excess but hey, getting something back was better than getting nothing. hope this helps

anybody have any experience putting 1 of these into a turb'd subaru? thinking about putting 1 into mine as i have no rev limiter. and dont want my motor to pop haha . any help appreciated. cheers

ohhh so is it possible to replace the reed switch by itself or do you need a whole new cluster? im on the north shore in auckland.

do you know what should be running from the reed switch to the ecu? could it be something like the wire being loose or just crap, causing it to go off when i slow down?

its a 96 gc8 sti. so someone might have turned it off so i need to turn back on? sorry if im way off the mark haha

hey guys. am really frustrated with my car at the moment so im after some help. my CEL keeps coming on when im either engine braking for a long time or stay in the same gear for a long time (motorway), if i come up to a stop the light goes off again and car goes back to normal. but if im on the motorway and it comes on without me slowing right down, the CEL stays on even if i do slow right down and car goes into limp mode. my speedo works perfectly fine, and have tried replacing the smaller section of the speedo cable that goes in the gearbox with no success. I have got a full replacement speedo cable that i am going to try sometime this week but i dont think this is going to fix the problem as the speedo works fine ??? does anybody have ANY ideas on how to fix this at all?? Or had this problem in the past and fixed it?? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

yeah i dont think supersubaru understood what i am trying to figure out. the cable runs from the gearbox up into the dash but yeah, not sure if it goes to ecu or directly to speedo? hopefully somebody knows on here haha.

so you ran your boost gauge hose to that green thing? i tried to glue the bit that broke off but it snapped into 5 peices haha.

the parts of the wire i can see have been untouched. put the bit inside the dash i cant see so wouldnt know

Does any one know what this sensor is for: its under the manifold, under the ICV on a version 3 sti RA. Under here: It has two hoses going to it. One from the manifold and one from the PCV valve and on electrical plug. The bit that the hose goes onto has snapped of when I was looking for a boost leak. The plastic looks like it has just deteriorated.

Speedo is working. So is it something to do with the wire between the speedo and the ecu?

just ran the codes came up with 24,33,33,33,33,33,33,33,33..... etc etc. why would the 24 only come up once then go away?

AFM is fine just borrowing a reconditioned 1 as my 1 got water into it earlier this week.
