Just wondering if there is a agreed best place to go to get my v6 Sti Ra tuned. Got the G4 Plug and Play and done all the small prep stuff I want to but just hoping you guys can point in the best place to get it done.
few things on the car. vf22, full 2.5" turbo back exhaust, Semi tuned headers with 3" up pipe, 500hp Walbro fuel pump, cold box with pod.
Havent done anything with the injectors and dunno if I can be bothered. See what it can do with that.
Cheers.
semi headers are the best, rids of the dumb subaru noise, 3" upipe??? really that big?
if your keen for a drive to sunny hawkes bay we have WRC developments which charge $800 inc GST
and they know there stuff, if you have a G4 I would opt for a change in injectors, but the yellows will do the job.

I thought the sedans were RS and the wagons were GT?

RS manual, GT auto. can be either sedan or wagon
Just to jump on the band wagon
Incorrect
Manual Sedan = RS
all other shapes and gearboxes = GT
this is how it is and always has been
I had a \'91 GT wagon factory 5 speed
there was also BG RS versions that were auto i didnt believe it at first

you check your map sensor? (it sits just above the factory boost solenoid), make sure you have a vac line connected to the inlet manifold.

least the volvo will be reliable
-
nice especially with a proven new rebuild.
If I bought it I would get rid of the 4"big bore and swap it for a stock STI one, and keep it unmolested.

same thing happened to me last two weeks, I changed everything ICV, BOV, BOV spring, still nothing, turned out it was my alternator the whole time, when it was cold the car was fine idled okay (link, no afm, untuned at the moment) anyway when the car got hot ,or the normal op temp the fans would come on causing the car to idle hunt really bad till it stalled... turned out my alternator was putting out 13.5V on idle and when the fans came on, it dropped to 12.2V, rebuilt my alternator and we are good
just a another avenue for you try
cheers

it will work, but it wont be as good as your old eng, as im pretty sure your old eng is EJ208 (good heads, bigger injectors etc)
that auto one will have different heads internally, but should be able to use the long block and bolt your ej208\'s intake/exhaust manifolds on, and your away. just remember that engine wont be as good as a Ej208 performance wise, but it should be good just to get you going

cheers for your help guys,
so you saying I should send the crank breathers to the intake?

morning, i think i have my catch can installed incorrectly, I have been driving around like this for the past month, it just doesn\'t seem right???? (bear in mind my car isn\'t tuned yet)
anyway out of the crankcase is the factory v3/v4 2 outlet fitting to which I have one of the outlets going directly to the PCV valve and the other is T\'d with the drivers side head, towards the catch can as per pic, passenger side head goes straight to the catch can, im pretty sure something has to be connected to the intake somewhere...
anyway here is a pic of how i setup
yellow lines are the rocker cover breathers
red is pcv

if you do plan to buy it from that car dealer, be sure to buy a warranty (most car yards offer them) and they are good as long as you keep your car stock, and service intervals up.

i know of some fast familas an wouldn\'t doubt it could beat a sti.
in saying that i could find a sti that would beat that as well. :
I like my familas having owned one myself an apart from the interior an a new paint job its not bad.
each to there own but black leather would of looked so much better.
an remove all body modification ;D
this one wont! lol its still running stock engine management, $30k spent with no link?? it went past my job the other day and it was blowing out white smoke! bet you he didnt say that in the auction! still ill rather punch myself in the balls then be caught driving this
-
i know this loser car, and the guy who owns it.. seriously why would you bother??? and rekons can keep up/beat a sti lol

so Ive purchased this 5spd (factory) gt 97 wagon 170km for $300 complete(live plates),good score!! from a workshop cause they cant get the loom correct....(no idea!) but the engine they put in was a EJ20H from a bg5a. now obivous problem is they didnt use the orignal loom for the BG5B instead fitted the complete bg5a eng with loom( nothing has been cut ) now its not starting...
anyway my question is ive stripped the intake manifold off the block, in prepartion for the correct bg5b intake manifold .. how easy is it to just put a v3 ecu in it, v3 intake manifold and loom to make it single turbo? i realise i have to take the exhaust manifold off , block LHD head etc..
any help would be apprecited
or should i just keep twin? and put the original intake manifold on?
thanks
