  1. a mate of mine was driving back with me after the drags. when he went to over take someone in 5th gear and when the secondary turbo went to kick in jerked (his words) so im guessing fuel cut checked codes and surprise surprise code 66 came up. it will only do this in 5th gear all other gears are fine what should i be checking first i know all about diagnosing code 66 but was wondering if someone has had the same problem

  2. piston slap is where the sidewalls of the pistons wear out due to being alloy blocks and the pistons rattle inside untill they warm up if its doing it after its warm you have a problem

    on cold the pistons are small and they rattley but once warmed up they expand with heat and should stop making that noise

  3. haha im scared about breaking mine too. But ive got a good launch at the mo where i launch about 3k and ride the clutch a bit and it will rip off the line from 3k without jerking but i have done a couple of launches and the difference is so slight as it reving so fast you dont notice the no boost lol but really im only going up the strip for fun and to see what a factory manual gtb will do up the strip.

    must admit is a little bit scary when you give it a good launch haha ive had it for 6 months and never nailed it off the line only when going

    guess ill try both tomoro and see what the difference is my mate with another gtb bg5 is going to so should be fun

  4. hi ive decieded that im going to enter the night speed drag wars in my legacy GTB (bg5) i can launch ok but have been tossing up about how to change into second (sounds odd here i know).

    when you floor it in first its reving so fast that the secondary doesnt kick till about 6k RPM i want to know if you guys think its quicker to change to second gear at 4k RPM before change over and boost form there.

    all in all its my first time so should be a bit of fun haha

  6. i would base the amp on the rms wattage aswell as your speakers so if you were looking for an amp for speakers which generally put out 40w rms low end to 80 or more top end in the 6" range i would get an amp that puts out 4x (x amount of rms wattage to match your speakers) to maximise the potential of those speakers

    sorry in advance if this doesnt make much sence haha

    silde sector would i be right in assuming that you own the "0s0sxy" legacy that i saw last weekend at the fours and rota nats??? cause if it i wanted to know what the best time down the strip you had done was a little bit sad when the caldina it was parked beside in the show was a tad bit faster down the strip

  8. well i have just got an fto back on the road with a mate its best to go to vtnz (i know its not the most awesome place) and ask them cause we were told after we got a police letter that we did not need this and had to sign some papers from nzta

    they changed the way they do it 3 times in the time we were going to get it on the road lol
