damn thats nice though!
-
yeah thats what I want where would I get a set up like this
-
Thanks for that I was really thinking of taking the cats out for more power - it already has a good rumble but if I will get boost spikes and have to tune it I may not worry.
The car already runs great, has run 1 bar of boost solidly since I bought it a year ago and has had no boost issues at all
-
Just to go back to my old topic, how would I go about changing to a catback system?
* go into an exhaust shop and cut them out and get straight bits in place
* or go online and buy a system - I definitely dont want the car louder
also will I still get the Subaru rumble? - this is for my 2001 Legacy GT E-tune
-
It was purchased of Ebay - this is the Part No: ST4511355010, according to here: http://subaruonlineparts.com/oemparts/ST4511355010 it is a genuine part
after reading a few things about higher pressure caps Im not sure I should be using one? - people having trouble with cracked tanks etc - although my car does already have a fairly new radiator
what do you guys suggest?
-
the hose seemed to be ok it just came off the radiator - it may have not been tight enough for the little bit more pressure
-
Well I recently put an STI 1.3bar Radiator cap on my 2001 Legact GT and after a few days (today)the front top hose popped off
Would this be because of the higher pressure cap? and does anyone know what the standard pressure is for a standard cap?
-
I think they were open then - they opened about 3-4 weeks ago - people just didn\'t know about it
-
Well now us Nelsonians can run our cars on 98! about time too!
For those of you who want to use it it is located at:
Challenge Petroleum
33 Waimea Rd
Nelson
Unfortunately he does charge 2.69 a litre - does anyone know how much BP Ultimate 98 is?
-
-
Thanks for this guys It looks like I might go for it, the only thing thats holding me back is my old car :\'( it does have some sentimental value to me! :\'(
-
so im thinking of selling my 2001 E-tune see here

And are thinking of purchasing a 2005 Legacy 3.0R Sedan 6Speed Manual
What do current owners of 3.0R\'s think of these cars and would I be better off with one over my 2001 E-tune
Cheers

one bad idea is changing the vac hoses - the original ones are numbered so unless you number the new ones you will have isses if you are trying to find a specific hose that may be blocked etc

Mate I would love to but first you have to buy some Kartboy adapters from the US, cost? $250 for a pair, then you have to source some 2 Pot Calipers and you are looking for around 150-300 depending on the condition, and after that you would have to get them certified
As much as I would love them ;D I probably wont bother, although If I hadn\'t already bought my 4 Pots I possibly would have bought these

Would be Ideal for someone who wants to do the same as me!

How long do your headlights stay that clear for? I use the Meguiers stuff but it needs doing every few months
I did it about a month ago and its stayed the same but i\'ll see how long it lasts I guess
I could get you some Blue Magic polish $20 for a small amount, 30 for medium pot and about 65 for a big pot
LMK if anyone wants any
-
I have this stuff called blue magic metal polish, quite expensive and rare I could get some for you if you want
-
Just thought I would post some pics of my newly upgraded Brakes on my E-tune Legacy - Loving them! stops heaps better!
The pads are EBC Green stuff and the Rotors are DBA 4000 T3s
Oh and also I polished my headlights
-
I own a RevD E-tune I love it but dont buy one thats pinking!
-
Yep Rev D, I was gonna get mine remaped but its stopped now
-
My 01 E-tune was bad when I bought it, I tried all sorts of things other than the right fuel, a Subaru mechanic told me that Its just luck in what legacy will do it and what wont, mine was finally cured when I put a couple of tanks of 98 in it and I used some Nulon Octane Boost & Clean, this helped a lot when I went back to 95 now it doesn\'t do it at all
(by the way I can only use 95 because we only have 95 in Nelson no 98 at all)
-
I dont want to detract from Ledges problem or start another Oil argument , but my legacys tappits make a real faint tap if I put a thicker oil in would this help?
-
Castrol Edge 5W30, this is what is reccomended by Subaru as well
-
hmm, I also currently own a 2001 Legacy E-tune, its done 145,000kms and the engine is smooth as silk.
Its weird that you say it stops when its warm, if it didn\'t I would say the turbo bearings were stuffed, can you tell which turbo its coming from?
-
how many kms has the car done? my old BG legacy used to whine like a jet plane at idle, that was when it was hot too though
