  2. What I\'m saying is how does a shitty untuned motor last longer than one of subarus greats ? But that\'s neither here nor there as the motor could\'ve even thrashed prior . I will just have to hope the compression comes back decent.

  4. sweet as but more so roughly what would be a decent range. i really just dont see how i can run through a v7 sti motor on 14psi in 4th tuned quicker than a ver5 wrx motor on 20 psi untuned.

  10. Hi All, Just cruising back from a mates on the shore saturay night. something decided to shit itself. Heres a small run down of what happend and what i have done so far. Cruising from standstill through the gear untill about 3rd where i brought it to around 10 psi of boost. this is when all hell broke loose motor had sudden loss of power and mass ammounts of smoke started hauling out the exhaust and started missfiring i turned the car off straight away and let it roll to a stop. Had the car towed home the following day to try find the cause. When the car was home i noticed large amounts of oil all throught the engine bay. this i noticed had been cause by the blow by tube popping off i thought i may have melted a piston (Couldnt find a swear word long enough then) but when i stared looking in the intercooler pipping i noticed a large volume of oil sitting at every elbow. so as a test i dropped the exhaust manifold off so that the exhaust was just coming straight out the block. I then started the car with no ic piping and maf straight over the throttle body car start first go and had tiny amount of smoke and then ran fine just Farking loud. could this be the turbo or is my new motor gone bye bye :-\ attached is a pic of one the elbows with half the amount of oil in than when i found it.

  12. one of my recent motor changes came with that. the motor had been standing for ages so when i opened it up to do tiing belt water pump and pulleys i notice the water pump and thermo stat was jammed because of that shit. please people get it fixed properly
  13. a 99 ver5 wrx with a ver 7 sti long and j2 ver6 sti ecu
  14. definately alot more responsive alot more pull and quicker pickup. the thing im most pleased about though is that at higher rpms the engine doesnt sound like its screaming.
  15. Converted the Ecu From NZ New E3 ecu to J2 ecu massive mission due to wiring but was worth it in the end.
  16. I finally did it no one commercial could really help. What i did was within the ecu itself i solderd a wire between A21 & A1 (has to be withing the ecu itself as NZ New doesnt have a wire for A21) this enables you to operate the fuel pump then what a did was get a 6 plug 1/0 switch from JayCar and solder the C6 CamShaft and C5 CrankShaft sensor on in such a way that 1=JDM ECU/Link 0=NZ New. Overall it did the trick and if for any reason i can change back to Nz New ecu without any more soldering just flick the switch and we are done.

  20. nope im still hunting for one now that i finally have the money to get one hahah. V5-v6 possum link will probs be good enough untill then 7 psi for me :-)
