  1.  hate-evoz']cars that arent up to standard shouldnt park next to cars that are.. not fair imo.. hahaha makes pictures look funny

Not sayin mine is either haha everyone has different taste..but I do know a ugly car when I see one..

pretty high and mighty statements you're making. but yeah you're right, i'd be sayin' the same things about cars with ruined suspension systems, dinner plate chrome wheels, painted in colors that were chosen out of a kindergarten child's coloring book set. everyone has different tastes.

  2. wtf is a knick pick???

disagree on flow comment. high pressure, relatively low volume, flow won't come in to the equation. if one side was -10 and the other -4 that would make an effect, and if one side was 10metres longer than the other, that would too

  3. so my car's popped the "meter" fuse a couple of times causing most of the speedo cluster to stop working, and alternator to stop charging due to not being able to contact the charge light (!!!). apart from the obvious check of swapping out the dash cluster and checking related wiring, is there anything else I should consider?

  4. Grey 390cc vs yellow 440cc.

I wouldn't run grey passed 160kw but the td04 can happily exceed that. Yellow can support 200kw.

If you run that chipped ecu with yellows your next bottleneck is the top mount. Change to the td05 and this will help here actually, by running less boost more cfm to get power.

But in doing all of this, its only going to be as reliable as that guys chip. Could be good quick bang for buck though. Until it really does go bang

  5. That ecu would be tuned for the bigger turbo and by running around factory boost you've effectively converted your wrx to an sti of the same generation. Your setup would have safely gained around 20kw but at the expense of a bit of response. I wouldn't run any more boost than that and i wouldn't do it without that ecu change too. Personally i would keep the td04 as the limiting factor is not the turbo. Its everything else

  6. There's not much point fussing over turbos with a crappy ecu and injectors. I wouldn't even bother changing it. You need to get a possumlink and yellows to get a worthwhile SAFE upgrade. Your top mount is a real piece too, not to mention that horrid intake setup, and fuel pump. If you don't want to spend at least a couple of grand on turbo computer fuel bits and intercooler, you'll be wasting your time, money, and risking your motor. The v1/2 setup is rubbish compared to later models. I know all too well, I've been battling getting power out of mine for 6 years.

    got an interesting one:

mates v7 sti runs lean with afm plugged in

with no afm runs rich like normal

tried few afm (known good ones and same thing)

runs 13 on afm and 11.2 or less on no afm

no leaks evident (altho all beathers are to atmo for now - blocked off at intake end)

    has catback

    good sparks and walbro

    boost at 9psi for now

what wud cause it to run lean?

you call that lean. now this is lean:

  8. i fully agree with your point, in fact i think i was saying much the same thing. my own build isn't optimised for peak power. i've done everything with intent of making it at the lower and mid (like i mentioned, my head and block setup). what a turbo will "support" is assuming everything is done with the intent of maximum power from it.

i imagine to get the max out of the 7cm at around 350kw as mentioned above, you would need a 2.0 not 2.5, some pretty big cams on high flowing heads, and e85. i.e, setup designed with just peak output from turbo in mind

  9. My setup would get around 300kw at 25psi, but I don't want to push the bores so have limited it to 285 at 22. If id sleeved the bores it would be fine. To get 320 out of it, id need to do more head work. Im still using factory headers too so there would probably be more up top from there also. Steve has gotten 350 out of a 7cm on 2.0 i believe.

  10. What you consider restrictive depends on your goal and what you want out of your car, and what you want to spend.

I have a 7cm with t-61 comp wheel, which is pretty big. It spools really quick as a result but starts to fade up top. As a result you have to run a high pressure level or spend money in other areas like head work. My turbo is good for around 320kw at 25psi, with good low and mid range. Obviously the 7cm is then a restriction if you're after 400kw
